The rising sun plant palette 🌿
Planting plays a critical role in how a landscape settles, softens, and ultimately feels to live in.
It’s not just about appearance it’s about selecting varieties that complement the built elements and hold their structure over time.
A few we regularly use across our projects:
• Pittosporum tobira (Miss Muffet) (Low maintenance)
A dense, evergreen shrub that provides structure and reliability. Its compact form and rich green foliage make it ideal for framing spaces, and creating a clean, architectural backdrop.
• Ipomoea pes-caprae (Goat’s Foot Convolvulus) (High maintenance)
Used in elevated and hanging applications, this variety introduces a lush, trailing softness that contrasts beautifully against structured elements. Its cascading growth brings movement into the space while creating a full, established look that softens vertical edges.
• Sansevieria cylindrica (African Spear Plant) (Low maintenance)
Strong, upright and highly architectural. This variety adds vertical emphasis and contrast, working particularly well against stone, concrete and rendered surfaces in contemporary settings.
• Senecio serpens (Blue Chalk Sticks) (Low maintenance)
A compact, spreading succulent with distinctive blue-grey foliage. It introduces a soft tonal contrast and clean ground plane, pairing particularly well with stone and concrete while requiring minimal
upkeep.
The right planting doesn’t just finish a space it anchors it, balances it, and ensures it matures the way it was intended.
