WE’RE HIRING — BOILERMAKER / FABRICATOR
📍 LJFAB | Chinchilla, QLD

From premium ute trays and canopies to drilling equipment and transport skids, we’re looking for a capable fabricator who takes pride in their work and can see a job through.

THE WORK

• Ute trays, toolboxes and canopy systems
• Transport skids, drilling and oilfield equipment
• Structural fabrication and truck repairs
• General fabrication, modifications and occasional site repairs
• Cutting, press brake folding, MIG and TIG welding
• Assembly from drawings and jigs

Most projects are clean, new builds, with some repair work mixed in.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You can read drawings, plan your work, fabricate accurately and work independently as well as with the team. A trade qualification is preferred, but proven skills and experience matter most.

WHAT WE OFFER

• Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Starting at $40/hr
• $55/hr+ for someone who steps into a leadership role, or consistently delivers strong productivity and meets agreed KPIs
• Well-equipped workshop and a broad mix of work

Meet Zak – our metal origami specialist!

Zak is a highly experienced sheet metal tradesman with a great work ethic and natural leadership skills. He’s always up for a challenge and takes plenty of pride in his work.

When he’s not folding metal in the LJFAB workshop, you’ll find him camping or sending it on the enduro bike!

Today marks Cooper’s first year with the LJFAB team! 🍻

He’s become a massive asset with his eye for detail, incredible work ethic and willingness to get stuck in.

With a stock crate, two truck bodies, 70 ute trays, plenty of repair jobs and roughly 365 broken drill bits under his belt, he’s already building a broad set of skills! 😂

Well done on your first year, mate. We appreciate the effort you put in and look forward to seeing what you achieve in the next one!

Our very first tray was built for my Sandy Taupe 79 Series, so we’ll always have a soft spot for them.

Tom finished off his build the right way with an LJFAB Outback Tray. Built old school tough, with modern clean lines. 🤝📈

🔧 FABRICATOR / WELDER – FULL TIME

Location: Chinchilla QLD
Pay: $40–$50/hr (based on experience)

LJFAB is looking for a fabricator/welder to join the team.

What you’ll be doing:

* Assembly and welding of ute trays, canopies and 4x4 products
* Fabrication of transport skids and custom gear for oil & gas
* General workshop fabrication and installs

What we want:

* Can weld and fabricate without being handheld
* Takes pride in clean, straight work
* Shows up, gets stuck in, gets jobs done

What you get:

🛠️ LEADING HAND FABRICATOR / WELDER

We’re looking for a leading hand who can run jobs and keep the workshop moving.

What you’ll be doing:

* Oversee fabrication of ute trays, canopies and 4x4 products
* Manage workflow on transport skids and custom oil & gas jobs
* Keep quality high and jobs on time
* Help train apprentices and keep standards tight

What we want:

* Strong fabricator who can lead from the front
* Organised, pushes jobs along, doesn’t wait to be told
* Holds quality and time standards
