🐾 MEET SIMBA – OUR NEWEST WORK EXPERIENCE STUDENT! 🐾

Simba popped into the office for a day of work experience, ready to put his paws to work! 🐶🧢

Unfortunately, the day also included an unexpected performance review with the dog groomer… apparently, looking this scruffy wasn’t part of the dress code! 😂🛁✂️

He’s now had his bath, groom and makeover, and is looking far more professional than the rest of us! 🤣

Not sure what he actually learned today, but he’s definitely mastered looking cute, accepting attention and doing absolutely nothing productive. 😂

We’ll see how he goes in his probation period! 🐾😂

PROJECTS TEAM GOT COOKED 🍕

This month Dan, Kyle, Greg & Blue from the Projects Team were handed one simple job… COOK LUNCH. 👨‍🍳

What did they deliver?

DOMINO’S. 😂😂😂

Four blokes. One kitchen. Zero cooking.
Somehow the Projects Team managed to outsource lunch faster than they outsource a project. 🤣

Dan, Kyle, Greg & Blue would like everyone to believe this was a carefully planned and strategically executed meal.

We know the truth… someone found the Domino’s app. 🍕📱

To be fair, the pizza was bloody good — so we’ll give them that.

10/10 project management.
0/10 culinary skills.
100/10 effort in avoiding the kitchen. 😂

💛 R U OK? Day — MFE Style 💛

Today we put the tools down (well… some of us ) and took the time to check in with the MFE crew.

Morning tea ✔️
Lunch ✔️
Plenty of food ✔️
Plenty of banter ✔️
Actual conversations ✔️

Because at MFE, we know a good feed and a laugh can fix a lot… but sometimes people need a bit more than that. 💛

So today, and every day, take a minute to ask your workmate, “R U OK?” — and actually stick around for the answer.

Look after your mates, have the conversation, Because sometimes the best conversations happen over a cuppa… or when there’s food involved

What an incredible day at the Chinchilla One Long Table Event!

MFE was proud to be a sponsor of such a fantastic community event, bringing people together for an evening of connection, celebration and local spirit.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing MFE team members who generously gave up their time to volunteer. From the early morning set-up, to helping throughout the event, and staying on for the late-night pack down, your dedication, teamwork and community spirit were on full display.

Events like this don't happen without the support of volunteers, and we couldn't be prouder of our team for stepping up and making a difference.

Well done to everyone involved in making the event such a memorable success. We are already looking forward to next year!

🎉 Happy Birthday to our Workshop Supervisor, Adam! 🎉

The man who somehow keeps the workshop running, the team in line, and still has enough energy left to take an afternoon run! 😆

We figured we’d let you have one day without too many questions… but no promises. Enjoy the cake, soak up the birthday attention, and remember—you’re only as old as the workshop says you are! 🍰🎈

Hope you had a ripper day, Adam! 🍻🥳

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week Celebrations at Work ❤️💛🖤
This week we were proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week and recognise the rich history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
A special thank you to our talented boilermaker T and her dad James ( who come from the Gungarri / Gubbi Gubbi / Iman tribes) for sharing their culture and knowledge with our team. T gave us a beautiful Welcome to Country and then James and T performed traditional Welcome Dance (Gurri Nginde Narme) which originates from the Bunya Nut Ceremony and a traditional Rain Dance as well. James captivated us with traditional stories and insights that highlighted the importance of culture, connection to Country and community.
The celebrations were made even more memorable with a delicious spread of traditional foods, including:
🌿 Kangaroo tail
🌿 Damper
🌿 Lemon myrtle tea
🌿 Traditional stews
It was a wonderful opportunity to learn, reflect and celebrate together, gaining a deeper appreciation for the world's oldest continuing cultures.
Thank you to T, James and everyone involved in making the day such a meaningful and memorable experience.
🖤💛❤️

A huge shout-out to our resident BBQ masters from QA and IT – Dan, Bradon and Phoenix – for this month’s legendary lunch! 🌭🔥

The team was treated to gourmet hot dogs loaded with all the good stuff, expertly prepared with the precision you’d expect from QA and the troubleshooting skills you’d expect from IT. No bugs were found in the sausages, and all hot dogs passed quality assurance with flying colours. ✅

Thanks, gents, for keeping both our systems and our stomachs running smoothly. Same time next month? 🌭👏
