Calling students in Years 6–12 and their teachers to join us for two days of maths, discovery, challenge and fun!

Students will explore immersive maths activities and high-level enrichment, while teachers can take part in innovative professional development and discover new ideas to bring maths into the classroom.

National Science Week NT is officially underway! 🧪🌏🚀

This year’s celebrations kicked off with two fantastic launch events — and a very special first for the Territory.

On Thursday, National Science Week NT headed to Nhulunbuy for its first-ever launch event in Gove. And what a welcome! The trivia night was completely packed, with an incredible atmosphere and plenty of friendly competition. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and love for science from the Gove community.

Then on Friday, the celebrations moved to Darwin, where Interin Charles Darwin University Vice-Chancellor Fiona Coulson officially opened the event.

Our fantastic keynote speaker, Dr Dylan Irvine, took us on a fascinating journey through Darwin’s water, wet seasons and changing weather trends.

A huge thank you to Dr Luke Steller, who joined us for both events and helped make this year’s launches even more special.

We also acknowledge the wonderful leadership of Alayna Hansen, Chair of the National Science Week NT Committee, and Dr Kirsti Abbott, Chair of the Inspired NT Board, and everyone working behind the scenes to bring National Science Week to communities across the Territory.

Two towns, two brilliant events, and one very clear message: science is alive and thriving in the NT! 🔬💡

And this is only the beginning. Happy National Science Week! 🎉

Students will jus for three fun, hands-on maths sessions where they can do real maths, explore complex concepts and tackle creative mathematical challenges that bring maths to life!

🎮 Supporting a young Minecraft builder?

If your child or students are planning to enter the 2026 Minecraft Challenge, join us for a free online information session for teachers, parents and carers.

We'll explain this year's challenge, entry requirements, key dates, and how you can support young participants throughout the competition. There will also be plenty of time to ask questions.

Celebrate National Science Week with the CSC Stargaze & Discover Community Event on Tuesday, 18 August, 6:00–8:00 pm at CSC Oval and S Block.

Enjoy hands-on science activities, interactive CDU exhibits, meet the Woollybutt Wildlife Rescue team, explore science pathways, grab a BBQ, and finish the evening stargazing with the Casuarina Senior College Stargazers.

This free event is open to everyone—we'd love to see you there!
