30 year history of manufacturing side tippers, water tanks and other heavy earth mining equipment to companies all over Australia, proving that when you have a superior product the distance and remoteness are not an issue for clients. Tristar was one of the first companies in Australia to build Side Tipping Semi Trailers and continues as a leader in their design and development. Tristar also has a substantial involvement in the design and construction of mining and other engineered equipment. Tristar has on site their own mechanical engineer, profile cutter, press operator, diesel mechanics, auto electricians, machinists, hydraulic experts and some of the best welders/boilermakers in the country. Tristar products are made from high quality, heavy duty components to give them a long and useful life, minimized risk of breakdown and downtime and ease of maintenance. Low hydraulic pressure reduces potential damage to hydraulic hoses and hoists. A low centre of gravity aids the stability for both on and off–road application and can handle a wide range of products. They can be built single, double, triple or special road train configurations with left or right hand side opening doors. Much of the equipment Tristar builds is used in the harsh environment of the top end of Australia on mine sites where the road conditions can be very taxing on all types of mining equipment. Regular haul road usage on mine sites will quickly uncover any weakness in the materials used to fabricate equipment. You have no choice but to use the best materials when designing and building trailers that will routinely be subjected to those conditions. Boasting one of the biggest manufacturing sites in the NT consisting of 2 fabrication sheds, trailer fit out shed, sand blast and paint shed, machine shed and full functioning spare parts store. Requiring 70 staff members made up of welders/boilermakers ,auto electricians, diesel mechanics, fitters and turners, sand blasters, industrial spray painters, trailer fitters, draftsman, mechanical engineer, press operator, tyre fitter, store man, trades assistants, apprentices and our administration staff to keep up with the demand in work. Currently producing over 120 side tipping semi trailers and 30 water tanks per year as well as fuel tanks, belly dumpers, low loaders, drop deck trailers and other specific clients requests we are left asking "what economic downturn?"
