Hi everyone, I’ve been inactive for sometime with the move etc. On a personal note, see below worth a read! My partners journey…
Young mum 👩👧👧👨👧and invincible? Think again… 🤷♀️
Rates of bowel cancer in younger age groups are growing 📈 Those aged 30-39 have seen a 35% increase between 1990 and 2010, despite stabilising or falling rates in older people. Screening for bowel cancer starts at 50. What’s worrying 😯 is that it’s a disease younger people and even their GPs tend not to consider when investigating symptoms. That is, if symptoms are noticed and acted upon at all.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
👉 Share this post and generate awareness. I had this alien tumour invade my body silently, with little to no symptoms and when I did have symptoms they were initially downplayed until I went to ED, so here I am today.
👉 Donate 💰 even the price of your coffee ☕️ it all helps. We moved to sunny 😎 🏝️ Queensland with no family or friends. Shortly after we had to come to grips with this unexpected news 😞. We need all the support we can get and build our tribe here to help us through the road to recovery ❤️ The funds raised will help with care for the kids, transport to appointments, treatment costs and overall living expenses for a young family with a wage now gone.
👉 Most importantly look after YOU! Get checked 🌡️ Bowel cancer is NOT an old persons illness check the stats and see the Bowel Cancer Australia website for more stories 📚
Thanks for your support 👏 and let’s spread the word 👄
Special thanks to my sister in law and her workplace for setting up a page for us too. It means a lot, such a beautiful gesture 🌸 🌈
