Did you know these are some things you can do at home before you call a professional out to help?

Dirty Air filters - a quick vacuum can fix the low air flow.

Clogged Drain Line - remove any dust, outside debris around outdoor unit that may be restricting fan.

Frozen coil - if your system has been off all night and the outside temp is Zero or below chances are the outdoor needs to defrost, this can take time (up to a few hours pending on your system). Timers can be your best friend during wintertime and waking up to a warm house.

Low Refrigerant - Reduced refrigerant levels lower coil temperatures too much, leading to ice buildup and subsequent overflow when thawing. In this case a qualified installer will need re gas your system.

1. It depends on the size of your home, the layout, insulation, windows and how much sunlight your home gets. A professional assessment helps make sure you choose the right system. Choosing the wrong size unit may cost you more in running cost if it’s too small for your dedicated space.

2. Regular servicing. We recommend every two years. Cleaning filters and return air grillers. Using the right temperature settings. Set and forget, don’t play with temp controller. If you’re cold put on a jumper, your wallet will thank you later. Choosing an appropriately sized, energy efficient system can also help reduced running costs.

3. It’s a great idea. Getting your system checked before you need it most can help identify problems early and ensure it’s ready for the colder months.
