Banjo’s new acquisition a Mooney M20C it’s quite a late model 1977, it took us 3 days , old engine out, baffles ect swapped to new engine, in and flying in 3 days.
omg the engine bays tight (a nightmare 😂), but as they have the performance it’s all worth it, and it’s worth spending the time to gain the experience to make the hard jobs easier!

Another week on DDF, have a listen to the engine it wants to be unleashed! It will hammer this thing!

Jobs we did for the week
Reseal Oleos
Reseal shimmy damper
Fit new landing gear down lock springs
Rerig landing gear
Reseal brake master cylinders
Fit overhauled engine fuel system
Fit and wire up a new voltage regulator
Fit new wing bolt set
Replace nose gear retract rod boot
New airfilter assembly
New fuel cap seals
Replace 1 fuel sender
Refit interior and seats

The last job in about 6 weeks time will be to refit the tailplanes and ruddervators

The turbo Bonanza’s(Tornado Alley) is going for its second flight (home) with the big 550ci big bore continental engine, tornado alley recommend full manifold pressure 2500rpm lean of peak, Gav tells me 186knot TAS at 8000 65 liters an hour, it’s a busy installation!

It definitely pulls harder on takeoff but I’ll get a better feel for the increase in cruize speed tomorrow and Saturday Deni-Mansfield-Deni then Deni-Whitecliffs-Deni Saturday
All went well just a check over the engine ✅, the new vernier throttle control was good
The logbook entry and flight manual supplements all done✅

It goes! idle mixture adjustment and idle speed, prop governor 30 over (2730) wound that in a turn, the MAP senser stoped working momentarily last flight, it wouldn’t work at all, I had a new senser all done ready to fly tomorrow

Close now to getting it running, I got oil pressure by cranking it with the spark plugs out today, few more jobs tomorrow then ground runs and paperwork then test fly.
