The turbo Bonanza’s(Tornado Alley) is going for its second flight (home) with the big 550ci big bore continental engine, tornado alley recommend full manifold pressure 2500rpm lean of peak, Gav tells me 186knot TAS at 8000 65 liters an hour, it’s a busy installation!

It definitely pulls harder on takeoff but I’ll get a better feel for the increase in cruize speed tomorrow and Saturday Deni-Mansfield-Deni then Deni-Whitecliffs-Deni Saturday
All went well just a check over the engine ✅, the new vernier throttle control was good
The logbook entry and flight manual supplements all done✅

It goes! idle mixture adjustment and idle speed, prop governor 30 over (2730) wound that in a turn, the MAP senser stoped working momentarily last flight, it wouldn’t work at all, I had a new senser all done ready to fly tomorrow

Close now to getting it running, I got oil pressure by cranking it with the spark plugs out today, few more jobs tomorrow then ground runs and paperwork then test fly.

Getting close on the 550 install, a few fiddly jobs tomorrow, get some oil pressure and then start it, it’s a fair mission detailing the engine bay and doing all the D’Shannon mods, these keep the engine cooler, meaning you can get to height quicker, level off and start smoken along!

Progress on the 550 install in GTA, the next job is to add doublers to the new nose bowl so it doesn’t crack again, although the new engine is balanced, only another $2500 but it’s cheap insurance and there’s nothing like smooth power!
