Just re built this deck.

The previous owner had used h2 treated pine for the bearers and joists (which is treated for termites but not rot. Should have used a high durability hardwood or h3 pine). The deck was feeling very spongey and when I pulled the decking up some of the joists completely disintegrated. Was satisfying to replace the structural members and decking with timber I know will last.

Outside of traditional carpentry I also work as a rammed earth contractor. Rammed earth walls are made with clay sand and rocks. Here is a counter I made for a furniture showroom on the central coast. A little bit of my story, I grew up in Dubbo, moved away, worked on lots of lovely houses in the Hawkesbury and Penrith area including owner building a place in Bowen mountain (see pictures).

Now I live back in Dubbo with my wife and 4 children and am working as a carpenter specialising in hardwood timber. I also have a business as a rammed earth contractor.
