Ever seen a house built on cardboard boxes??? Its not everyday you get to do something new!
This renovation in Padbury has severely limited access so we had to look at different options to build the slab up to suit the site levels. Some time ago we had caught up with our engineer Mick Young on another job, and he had mentioned he was working on a new system for waffle pod slabs involving cardboard boxes rather than the traditional polystyrene blocks.
In comes Waffle Foundations Aus with their B-Pod system. Being far more environmentally friendly then polystyrene or plastic, and the fact they came flat packed and built onsite became the obvious solution. The boxes create a void with steel and concrete encasing them for a structure of immense strength. Stay tuned to see this renovation take shape!
