📢 Cheaper Home Batteries Program Expanded

The Australian Government has confirmed enhancements to the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, expanding its reach and reinforcing support for cost-effective residential and commercial battery storage. The program continues to deliver an approximate 30% discount on eligible small-scale battery installations, helping households, small businesses and community organisations reduce upfront costs, lower energy bills and enhance grid resilience.

Key points:

🔋 Continued access to around 30% off battery system costs for eligible installations connected to new or existing rooftop solar.

📈 Program expansion backed by significant additional funding to support uptake and help sustain long-term affordability.

📅 Adjustments to discount settings will ensure equitable support across battery sizes and align with evolving market costs

🚨 Important Safety Notice — Recall of GoodWe EHB & GEH Series Solar Inverters 🚨

As part of our ongoing commitment at Reclaim Solar to system safety and customer wellbeing, we wish to inform all clients and partners about a recently issued recall for select GoodWe solar inverters.

What’s Affected
The recall covers GoodWe’s EHB series models (GW5K-EHB-AU-G11, GW8.6K-EHB-AU-G11, GW9.99K-EHB-AU-G11) and GEH series models (GEH5.0-1U-10, GEH8.6-1U-10, GEH10-1U-10).

What The Issue Is:
If the inverter’s bypass switch is set to “bypass” while operating in backup mode, there’s a risk it will still export power to the grid. This creates a serious electric shock hazard in islanding scenarios — for homeowners, switchboard workers, and line-workers.

What You Should Do If You’re Affected

Contact GoodWe immediately for full details.

Do not use the bypass mode until the affected inverter has been upgraded with the new firmware (version 050531).

Do not conduct any electrical work on the unit until after the firmware upgrade has been applied.

If your system is online, GoodWe will perform the firmware upgrade remotely.

If offline, a technician will need to attend onsite to complete the upgrade.

If you believe you have one of the affected units, please reach out to your installer and contact GoodWe directly with your inverter model details.
