Automatic Heating electrifies the heating and DHW at Sydney’s EY Centre.

Located at 200 George Street, this one-of-a-kind retrofit project saw the replacement of gas boilers with two all-electric, Revere CO2 natural refrigerant heat pumps.

Direct access to the rooftop plant site was extremely limited, with no crane access to the roof of this 37-story building. To combat this, both Revere CO2 CHP-080Y2 heat pumps were dismantled and reassembled on-site in an Automatic Heating first.

To reach the rooftop, all large heat pump components were transported in a lift then vertically threaded up through a manhole. Other components of the system, including Thermex thermal storage tanks and a skid frame, were transported in a lift then carried up to the roof via an access stairwell.

Kudos to the Automatic Heating team for reconstructing two Revere CO2 CHP-080Y2 heat pumps on-site for the first time, an outstanding job.

The electrification of the EY Centre is a major milestone for Mirvac as they accelerate the decarbonisation of their portfolio. Congratulations to the team at Bridgeford Group for this project.

Retrofit Melbourne Financial Incentive Scheme

The City of Melbourne has announced the Retrofit Melbourne Financial Incentive Scheme, a new scheme to support mid-tier commercial office buildings in improving their energy performance through retrofit and high-efficiency upgrades.

Launched on August 10th, this scheme is designed to reduce the barriers for retrofit electrification upgrades and help the City of Melbourne achieve a zero-carbon city by 2040. Eligible building owners can access over $50,000 total funding across multiple activities.

Swimming Success: Heating Solutions for New MLC Sports Precinct Aquatic Centre

Automatic Heating are pleased to share the installation of six Revere 180kW AHGR32AW Heat Pumps at Methodist Ladies’ College new Aquatic Centre.
The opening of MLC’s state-of-the-art Aquatic Centre marks the completion of Phase 1 of a significant multi-phase Physical Education and Sports Precinct development.
Chosen for their high efficiency and energy saving sustainability credentials, the Revere AHGR32AW180 heat pumps now provide gas-free pool and space heating for the Aquatic Centre and internal community hub.
Automatic Heating has been a part of Methodist Ladies’ College history through 3 generations of heating solutions and are proud to be a part of their continued legacy.

This East Melbourne retrofit electrification project has transformed a bustling Melbourne office tower into a sustainable hub, providing energy efficient and reliable hot water for all tenants.

Utilising natural CO2 refrigerant for a gas-free solution, the retrofit DHW system was engineered to meet evolving demand. Automatic Heating supplied 2 CHP-15F CO2 heat pumps, 500L Thermex thermal storage tanks, 2 Grundfos Circulator Pumps and other ancillary products for this electrification upgrade.

A big congratulations to the installers who did a great job with this project.
