From initial render to clay model to finished bronze, this sculpture honours the life and legacy of Stasia Dabrowski OAM, fondly known as Canberra’s ‘Soup Kitchen Lady’.

Created by artist Louise Skačej (.skacej) , the sculpture was installed earlier this year at Garema Place, Canberra, as a tribute to Stasia’s compassion and contribution to the community. A lasting recognition of a life dedicated to helping others.

Cast in bronze by Meridian Sculpture, the project was realised in collaboration with Arts ACT.

Earlier this year, Meridian Sculpture was commissioned to create a replica of the memorial to Catherine McAuley, originally sculpted by Gael O’Leary.

The recently unveiled sculpture was created in collaboration with UAP and has been installed at Mater Private Hospital in Queensland.

After fifteen years of exploration at the intersection of geology and illumination, Christopher Boots presents GENESIS: the studio’s inaugural collection of limited-edition works. Each piece distills the practice’s signature forms through material transformation—lapis lazuli, verdigris brass, gradient quartz, and cast bronze—into numbered editions that mark a new chapter for the studio.

has been a long-standing collaborative partner of Meridian Sculpture, and we thank their team for their continued trust in our craftsmanship and expertise in lost-wax casting.

GENESIS was presented at this year’s Melbourne Art Fair.
