STP’s Biggest Morning Tea

Today, the STP team got behind Cancer Council’s Biggest Morning Tea, bringing our annual Loud Shirt Day to life. Cancer research deserves to be heard and our team showed up ready to make a statement with bold shirts and strong support.

Together, we raised an incredible $2,262 in support of cancer research, prevention and care. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect as a team while contributing to a cause that impacts so many.

Thank you to everyone who donated, participated and helped make the day such a success.

Over the past two decades, Matt has played a huge role in shaping STP’s growth across North Queensland, leading countless civil engineering projects and mentoring the next generation of engineers along the way.

As Director & Civil Manager, Matt brings an exceptional depth of knowledge across residential developments, infrastructure, health, education, industrial and community projects throughout Queensland.

More importantly, Matt is someone our team and clients genuinely value, known for his leadership, technical expertise, reliability and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.

STP Consultants is pleased to announce the opening of our Sunshine Coast office, marking an exciting new chapter in the firm's continued growth across Queensland. Located at 41 First Avenue, Maroochydore, this new office strengthens our presence in South East Queensland and positions us to better serve clients across one of Australia's fastest-growing regions.

Leading our Sunshine Coast team are:

• Matthew Lacey, Senior Mechanical Engineer
• Adric Bellosta, Senior Electrical Engineer

Matthew brings over two decades of experience across Healthcare, Government, Commercial, and Retail sectors, spanning private hospital HVAC and medical gas systems, operating theatre pressurisation, Queensland Health pandemic preparedness works, and national retail rollouts including ALDI and McDonald's.

Adric is an award-winning Electrical Engineer whose projects include the $220M Cairns Convention Centre refurbishment, the $70M Newman Catholic College redevelopment, and the heritage-listed Mulgrave Shire Gallery, collectively recognised across the FNQ Regional Architecture Awards, the FNQ Master Builders Awards, and the 2025 Queensland Architectural Awards.

Proud to see the completion of the Mater Private Hospital Townsville upgrades, a genuinely meaningful outcome for healthcare in North Queensland.

STP Consultants worked alongside Mater, Paynters and peddlethorp, delivering multi-disciplinary engineering services across Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, Hydraulic, Section J, and Vertical Transport.

Our scope included the design and delivery of a new substation and high-voltage supply, a purpose-built Renal Dialysis facility, and a new Maternity and Neonatal Unit. Spaces that will make a real difference to patients and families across the region.

Congratulations to the entire delivery team on a fantastic result.

Today we celebrate the women who are part of the STP Consultants team across all of our offices. Their skills, experience and perspectives play an important role in shaping the projects we deliver and the culture of our workplace.

Across engineering, drafting and our corporate services teams, women contribute to many areas of our business. From supporting project delivery to strengthening collaboration across teams, their impact is reflected in both the work we produce and the way we work together every day.

Over the past five years, the number of women at STP has more than doubled, reflecting the continued growth of our team and the increasing number of women building careers in engineering. We remain committed to supporting opportunities for women across all areas of our business.

This event has become a wonderful tradition for our Cairns team, bringing together women from across the industry to connect, share experiences and celebrate the contributions women make to our built environment.

At STP, we’re passionate about supporting initiatives that foster meaningful conversation, collaboration, and connection. It’s inspiring to see this event continue to grow each year, with so many talented professionals coming together to support one another.

Some big staff milestones to celebrate this year, starting with Quinton Zoller, our Brisbane Hydraulic Designer, who has just reached 5 years with STP 👏

Quinton began his journey with us in Townsville before relocating to Brisbane, and over the past five years has become a highly valued member of our Hydraulics team. He has delivered work across all phases of design on large and complex projects, including major hospitals, stadiums, schools, airports and community facilities throughout Queensland.

Congrats on 5 years, Quinton, and thanks for everything you bring to STP!
