Following the recent salvage works completed in the aftermath of Cyclone Koji, our team has seen firsthand the hidden dangers associated with storm-damaged and condemned vessels.
While a vessel may appear stable from the outside, cyclone-impacted boats often suffer from:
- Severe structural weakening
- Hidden hull fractures and delamination
- Compromised buoyancy
- Unstable decks and internal supports
- Entrapped fuel, oils, and hazardous materials
Once a vessel has been condemned or declared a total loss, it should be treated as structurally unpredictable and potentially hazardous.
