When it comes to large-scale canvas and custom fabrication work, sometimes the hardest part is simply finding enough room in the workshop to roll it all out.

It looks like Rebecca got bored of staring at a plain workshop wall… so things got a little more colourful around her work station. 😂🎨

At Henden’s Upholstery & Canvas, creativity doesn’t stop with our custom tool bags, marine trims, canopies and upholstery work, and apparently it now extends to interior decorating too.

Safe to say the workshop has a bit more personality these days, and honestly… it suits the creative chaos perfectly. 👌

Just like the products coming off our industrial sewing machine, no two days in the Henden’s workshop are ever boring.

When you're the bloke who manufactures the shade sail, you get first dibs on enjoying it. 😎

Caught in the wild, Jason is conducting what appears to be a highly technical quality assurance inspection of one of our recently installed shade sails.

Some people call it relaxing. We call it rigorous testing.

After all, how can we be expected to tell customers how good the shade is unless we're prepared to sit under it ourselves?

While Jason was busy making sure the shade was up to standard, the team was hard at work putting the finishing touches on the installation. It's a tough job, but someone has to supervise.

From shade sails and awnings to custom canvas and upholstery solutions, the Henden's team takes pride in creating products that not only look great but stand up to Queensland conditions.

And if Jason's happy sitting under it, we'd say it's passed the test. ✔️

When Peter said he knew everything there was to know about ship loader dust skirts… we didn’t realise he was this committed to the product. Safe to say he wears it well 🤣

Now this might be one of the more unique jobs to roll through the Hendens workshop.

Custom-made for QAL, this little portable trolley and protective cover was designed to safely transport sensitive and expensive instruments around site while keeping them protected from the elements and the bumps and knocks that come with industrial environments.

Practical? Absolutely.
Protective? Definitely.
But we can’t help feeling like it also looks ready for a quick lap around Woolworths with Nan on a Tuesday morning bargain hunt.

And honestly… that’s the beauty of custom fabrication and canvas work. Sometimes the job is serious, but the solution can still have a bit of personality.
