We’ve been busy getting everything ready for Falcon Cranes, with a brand new Potain MCT385 20T flattop crane prepped for delivery.

Testing a 20-tonne crane in a standard yard environment can be challenging when high-capacity industrial power isn’t available.

That’s where smart battery technology comes in.

Our team is running the testing phase using a Potain PA375 Pro energy storage system. Connected to a standard single-phase socket, it charges like a high-capacity power bank, then delivers the energy needed to safely run and cycle the crane’s major lifting systems.

No matter your site or power constraints, the team at TES can tailor a plant and battery package to suit your requirements.

This week, we sat down with Brendan Tunney, one of the crew here at TES, and asked about his role and what a typical day looks like.

He told us he splits his time between learning the trade alongside the rest of the crew and getting stuck into hoist work, doing installations, jumps, and all sorts of hands on tasks.

Outside of work, Brendan stays pretty busy. You will often find him playing Oztag, painting, or spending quality time with his partner and both families. When we asked for his all time favourite movie, he did not hesitate. No Country For Old Men.

Finally, we asked what makes TES such a great place to work. Brendan said the best thing about the job is the crew he works with and how everyone encourages each other to improve, keep learning about the equipment, and find smarter ways to tackle every job.

This week, we caught up with Kelvin Smith, one of our experienced Crane Technicians.

Kelvin’s days are busy keeping things moving. He spends a lot of his time preparing cranes and hoists in Falcon’s yard, getting them ready for site installation. When he’s not in the yard, he’s out attending breakdowns, carrying out servicing, or erecting and commissioning cranes on site.

Away from work, Kelvin’s time is all about family. He loves spending time with his wife and kids, and you’ll often find him out on the golf course, or camping on the beach and throwing a line in.

When we asked for his all-time favourite movie, Kelvin picked Forrest Gump.
We also asked what makes TES a great place to work. Kelvin loves the direction Alex is taking the company and gets so much satisfaction from sharing his knowledge.

We sat down with Peter Beddall, our Technical Supervisor here at Total Equipment Sales.

Peter plays a key role keeping everything on track. He organises the daily jobs for the technicians and oversees pre-erection work, maintenance, and servicing of cranes and hoists.

When he is not at work, you will usually find Peter enjoying the outdoors. He loves camping and fishing, as well as spending time with family and friends.

His all time favourite movie? A true classic, The Blues Brothers.

Peter says what he enjoys most about TES is the crew. Everyone gets along really well, which makes it a great place to come to work each day.

At Stones Corner, DeMartini Fletcher’s new custom-painted Potain tower crane is looking fantastic in their signature black and white colours by Total Equipment Sales (TES).

TES also supplied it fully equipped with all the right rigging gear and cages, plus an experienced crew on site every day.

At TES, we provide a complete end-to-end package, from supply and customisation through to maintenance and full support, and this project is a great example of that.

DMF also opted for the Potain Customer Equipment Service Package, which includes scheduled servicing, fast response for breakdowns and fault finding, major inspections and ongoing condition assessments, electrical and mechanical repairs, and safety system testing and calibration.

We’re proud to share that TES has successfully erected and commissioned Australia’s first Potain MCR505 tower crane at One Redcliffe.

This delivery for Falcon Cranes and Gardner Vaughan Group brings some exciting firsts for the Australian construction industry. It’s the first time this crane model has been installed here, the first run powered by the new Potain Power PA375 battery system, and the first use of the Vita Load Navigator for jib installation and counterweights.

It’s great to see our equipment helping deliver a premium collection of 2, 3 and 4-bedroom apartments right in the heart of Redcliffe.
