A flat-pack gate kit looks like the cheaper option, and for a standard opening it can be. But if your driveway is sloped, out of square, or wider than a standard double gate, a kit gate has to be cut down to fit and that's where the problems start. Loosened fixings, sagging, scraping, hinges under strain.
