Last Thursday, Sam from Air Smart walked us through the air conditioning system being installed at Fitness Cartel Toowoomba - and it’s a serious setup.

521 kilowatts of cooling across 7 separate zones.

The main gym floor and common area system are designed to run 24/7, every day of the year.

No shutdowns overnight.
No weekends off.
Not ever.

Just consistent comfort from the moment members walk through the doors.

The main gym floor alone will use large commercial units capable of pushing cool air across the entire space.

No hot spots.

Just even, consistent cooling - no matter how busy the gym gets.

The wellness area, including the cold plunges and hot spas, has its own dedicated fresh air and extraction system designed to keep the space feeling clean, fresh, and comfortable.

Even the spin room, group fitness studio, reception, bathrooms, and change rooms all have individually controlled systems connected through one intelligent VRF setup.

Every unit throughout the facility is Fujitsu.
And that’s no accident.

Air Smart has worked with Fujitsu systems for years because reliability matters - especially in a facility operating around the clock in the Queensland heat.

Fujitsu’s inverter technology keep performance high and running costs low.

With units rated for ambient temperatures up to 50°C and inverter technology that constantly adjusts to demand, the system is built to perform efficiently without compromising comfort - meaning these units won’t skip a beat even on the hottest Toowoomba days.

Meet Mike, our Service Manager here at Air Smart 🙌

We caught up with Mike to learn a little more about his journey — from how he found his way to Air Smart, to what keeps him passionate about the work he does every day.

Mike found the role through Seek and reached out directly to the company, and from the very first call, things moved quickly.

Over a year later, he’s become a key part of the team.

When we asked what his favourite part of the job is, his answer was simple — the people.

A close-knit team, great clients, and a culture that genuinely feels like family.

For Mike, who comes from a family business background himself, that means a lot.

On the technical side, Mike thrives on the variety and complexity his role brings — from day-to-day support for the team, to getting hands-on with commissioning some of Air Smart’s larger sites alongside different manufacturers.
