Last week, we came together for the McNab Meetup 2026 — and what a day it was.

A full day of big ideas, plenty of laughs, honest conversations and a strong reminder of what sits at the heart of the McNab business — people, hard work, passion for construction and staying humble along the way.

From Merrick Watts and David Lutteral keeping the room entertained, Rupert McCall’s brilliant McNab tribute, and Michael McNab sharing his passion for people and the culture behind the business, through to CEO Kunjan Ganatra’s update on McNab’s continued growth and investment in ModnPods to help support the industry through modular manufacturing.

We heard from Michael Major, Sandra Brodie, Stuart Giles and Greg Webber in a great business panel facilitated by Michael McNab, before big-wave surfer Mark Mathews Surf took the stage with an incredible keynote, The Next Wave, on resilience, fear and pushing beyond what we think is possible.

And of course, no McNab Meetup would be complete without the laughs — including the 2026 McNab video — followed by the Group Excellence Awards, great food, drinks, live music from BenJam and plenty of time together as one team.

A huge day celebrating where the group has come from, the people behind it and where we’re heading next.

What a day. What a team. Bring on the next wave. 🌊

Greater delivery certainty starts with a more controlled way of building.

Modular manufacturing brings more of the construction process into a controlled factory environment, where design, procurement, production and quality can be coordinated before the modules arrive on site.

For developers and builders, that can mean greater visibility over programme, quality and delivery — particularly when projects need to be delivered at scale.

At ModnPods, we’re focused on creating a more connected pathway from early design through to manufacturing, transport and installation.

Certainty isn’t only about building faster. It’s about having greater confidence in how a project is delivered.

Do you have a modular project in mind? We would love to hear about it! 👌🏼

A good way to start the day — together. ☕🥐
Once a month, our ModnPods Breakfast Club brings the whole team together away from the usual pace of the office and factory.

This month gave us plenty to celebrate! Our Founder, Corporate Services Manager and Operations Manager, congratulated Alba and Scott on becoming Australian citizens 🇦🇺, and farewelled Justin after many years as part of our factory team.

We also looked ahead to an exciting upcoming McNab team meet-up — with plenty happening across the wider group.

And of course, none of the Breakfast Club happens without Ellen, our Office Manager who once again organised a pretty impressive spread for everyone. 👏

It’s a simple tradition, but an important one: good food, good conversations and a chance for our people to connect as one team.

Our New Blog is Up! Modular manufacturing starts long before a module reaches the factory. It starts at design.

Our latest blog looks at why early design involvement matters in modular projects — and how DfMA, coordinated design, engineering, procurement, transport and installation all need to work together from the beginning.

When these decisions are resolved earlier, there is greater opportunity to reduce redesign, improve repeatability and create a smoother pathway from design through to manufacturing and handover.

Our partnership with McNab brings together two businesses with complementary strengths: ModnPods’ design-led approach to offsite modular manufacturing, and McNab’s decades of experience delivering complex projects across Australia.

For ModnPods, that means access to deeper construction knowledge, proven systems and commercial expertise — strengthening the way we design, manufacture and deliver as we continue to scale.

John Christie, Founder of ModnPods, shares what the partnership with McNab has meant for our business and where it can take us next.

Solid strengths. Shared ambition. One exciting road ahead.

Some milestones deserve a little extra celebration. 🇦🇺
This week, our Lead Designer, alba.archidesign, has officially become an Australian citizen and we couldn’t think of a better moment to celebrate her.

Alba is a key part of the ModnPods leadership team. Her work across design, clients relationships and business vision helps turn architectural intent into something that can be manufactured efficiently, accurately and at scale.

Alba’s impact and passion for modular has helped shape the way our design team works, expands and strengthens the connection between design and manufacturing, as well as continuously inviting the ModnPods team to think differently about what modular can be.

For Alba, Australia has become much more than the place where she works; she’s officially calling Australia home. 🦘

Congratulations Alba on a very special milestone and thank you for everything you continue to bring to ModnPods. 🇦🇺

The greatest benefits of modular manufacturing are realised when the project itself is assessed through a manufacturing lens from the beginning.

Site conditions, programme and budget, transport and access, services and the level of repeatability across the project can all influence whether modular is the right delivery approach.

Repeatability is an important part of that equation — but it doesn’t mean every module needs to be identical. Opportunities to standardise layouts, structural systems, components and details can create efficiencies while still allowing the architecture to respond to the project.

When modular thinking is introduced early, the design can respond to manufacturing, transport, installation and site requirements from the start. That’s where a design-led approach to modular can unlock greater certainty across the project.

Considering modular for your next project? Talk to us early. 👷🏼‍♀️👷🏼‍♂️

Architectural design shapes how a building feels, functions and performs over time.

That is why design is such an important part of ModnPods, and why our design team brings an architectural background to the modular process in every single project we manufacture.

By working closely with architects and consultants early in the project we build a shared understanding about the vision making sure the implementation of our methodology is successful.

We believe that when architectural thinking and modular knowledge come together from the start, we can create buildings that are practical to manufacture,
comfortable to use and durable for the long term.
