Your boat’s driveline does all the heavy lifting, but because it's out of sight, it’s easily overlooked - until a vibration starts shaking the hull.

A bent shaft, a mismatched coupling, or a collapsed engine mount, can cause serious wear on your gearbox and ruin a good day on the water.

This time of year is the perfect opportunity for a mid-year vessel health check. When you're running through your maintenance list, keep an eye out for these three signs:

1️⃣ Listen & feel - notice any unusual hull vibrations or rattles while underway.
2️⃣ Visual check - look at your engine mounts for visible sagging or cracked rubber.
3️⃣ On the hardstand - next time your boat is out of the water, give the propeller shaft a firm shake to check for excessive play or wobble.

The sheer scale of the projects moving through the yard at The Boat Works can be hard to capture.

When a vessel this big comes out of the water, the volume of work needed below the waterline is just as large - everything from shaft alignments to complex system overhauls.
