30 years of Ploddy at Somersby! 🦕🏗️
Back in 1996, Waters Cranes had the privilege of helping relocate the iconic Ploddy from the old Australian Reptile Park site at Wyoming to her new home at Somersby.
The old photo was taken in the exact spot where Ploddy still stands today, which makes it pretty special to look back on 30 years later.
Even better, two of the blokes pictured that day — Brad Jackson (middle, white shirt) and James Guilbert (far right) — are still an integral part of Waters Cranes today. A great piece of history for our business and a testament to the people who have been part of it along the way.
Three decades later, she’s still standing proudly on the hill, and we’re incredibly proud that Waters Cranes played a part in getting her there.
As a local, family-owned business, it’s always a privilege to be involved in jobs that become part of the Central Coast’s history. Looking back at photos like these is a great reminder of just how long we’ve been doing what we do — and of the people who have helped build Waters Cranes into the business it is today.
And perhaps the best part… seeing the next generation pointing straight at the old photo and recognising the Waters Crane. 💚💛
Pretty special to see our family name alongside a piece of Central Coast history, 30 years on.
Happy 30 years at Somersby, Ploddy! 🦕🎉
And a big shoutout to the Australian Reptile Park for having us be apart of this! 🥰
