After 29 years, we’ve finally made the change!
At Total Precision, we’re always looking for ways to improve efficiency, consistency, performance and client satisfaction across all our manufacturing operations.
Recently, we made the decision to partner with Toolprocure Australia to complete a company wide change-over to Master Fluid Solutions TRIM 585XT.
We didn’t take this decision lightly - we’d been with our previous provider for 29 years and it required all 22 machining centres to be stripped, cleaned and refilled.
However, TRIM 585XT is officially pre-approved by major manufacturers like Boeing, Airbus, Rolls-Royce, and Pratt & Whitney.
In aerospace, every process plays a critical role in delivering quality, reliability, and performance. Selecting the right cutting fluid for demanding materials such as high-temperature alloys, titaniums and PH stainless steels is essential to maintaining productivity and achieving the highest machining standards.
So why the change for us? We could dress the decision up in all sort of clothes, but ultimately it came down to economics 💰
1. It’s already pre-approved - lowering our barriers to acceptance.
2. The coolant is more stable, so it extends our sump life.
3. The surface finishes are higher quality, with reduced staining.
4. We’re getting extended tool life and process stability.
5. Off-gassing is lower, so we are seeing reduced coolant consumption, and,
6. We’ve seen an improvement in machine cleanliness with lower maintenance.
In the end, it’s got to make economic sense to make business sense.’
