Following a prolonged recovery period of 10 months from shoulder surgery and a subsequent wrist injury, Dave has resumed work with renewed diligence, incorporating lessons learned from his experience and greater anxiety levels from Jenny. We appreciate the understanding displayed by everyone during this challenging time.

Dave, Jenny and Aiden wish all our clients, friends and family a Merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

We're currently on a break from 23rd Decemebr 2023 to 7th January 2024 and will return fresh and revived in the New Year . We look forward to reconnecting with everyone in the New Year and helping you with all your construction needs.

One lucky man.

A recent client had a runaway ute which rolled down from his carport into the barn. It took about a 25meter trip and change of elevation of approximately 5 metres with a swale halfway down which we can imagine sent the ute airborne. He was super lucky that he wasn't damaged along with the barn. The ute also only sustained minor damage.

We are beyond relieved that no serious harm was done and we're grateful to have been able to assist him in sorting out the aftermath and getting his barn door fixed. It's important to ensure your vehicle is secure at all times, no matter where it's parked. A runaway vehicle can cause a lot of damage, not just to property but potentially to people as well.

Grand Old Greenmount.

This one was done a while ago. She needed a little bit of TLC with new balustrade and stairs at the front. After some hard work and dedication, we managed to give her the makeover she deserved. Now, she stands tall and beautiful, a testament to the charm of old Queenslander.

Dave Garrett Constructions is excited to announce that Jenny is undertaking additional education to be able to bring your home dreams to life. Jenny has completed a Certificate IV in Residential Drafting and is now undertaking a Diploma of Building Design at TAFE Queensland with the view of becoming a fully licenced Building Designer with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission. Jenny's passion for creating beautiful, functional designs is evident in her work and we are excited about the additional aspect she will bring to our team. We pride ourselves on delivering a comprehensive service to our clients and Jenny's new qualification will only enhance the building process.

Below are some of the amazing projects that Jenny has been working on both for her private clients and TAFE assessments, showcasing her talent and dedication. As always, we are here to assist you with your home improvements, whether it's a small renovation or a large extension. Connell Cottage.

Just over a month ago we were approached by Lisa to undertake some demo and building work on Bobs, her late fathers, cottage in Greenmount. Lisa wanted to keep the essence of the cottage and preliminary concept drawings nailed that brief. Demo was begun, removing the old "extension" on the house, keeping the two original rooms and the verandah of the cottage. Now the question is to keep the carport or not... The cottage will be in hiatus after restumping whilst the drawings are finalised and council approvals are sought and building work is anticipated to begin in the new year.

Craftsmanship and quality are our top priorities as we will breathe new life into this cherished family home. We will maintain the integrity of the original home while adding modern features for comfort and convenience. The newly revamped cottage will feature a modern kitchen, a stunning open plan living and dining area, family bathroom and laundry, two comfortable bedrooms and wrap around verandahs, all while preserving the original charm and character of the property.

We're grateful to Lisa for entrusting us with such a meaningful project. It's an honor to be part of this journey, and we're sure that everyone will be delighted by the results.
