🚛 Customer Request
A customer required assistance to transport MT4400 trucks from QLD to NSW.

⚙️ The Challenge
Demobilisation of the MT4400 truck cab design presented a significant obstacle, the cabs aren’t modular and are not intended for easy removal. All electrical harnesses run directly from the cab to the chassis, making disconnection complex, time-consuming, and high-risk for wiring damage.

🔧 The HauLec Solution
Our team designed and implemented a custom modification using Deutsch circular connectors, allowing for quick and secure disconnection and reconnection of the cab wiring.
This tailored solution enabled the cabs to be safely removed without cutting or disturbing the original harness layout. For this specific project, where the existing wires had already been cut, our technicians re-joined and terminated the wiring according to a detailed wiring table provided to site, ensuring precision and reliability.

📈 The Results
• Simplified future maintenance: Cabs can now be disconnected and reinstalled with ease.
• Time savings: Future cab changes or rotable programs could save approximately three days of electrician labour per truck.
• Improved reliability: Reduced risk of wiring errors or damage during disconnection.

Through innovative thinking and practical electrical expertise, HauLec delivered a safer, more efficient, and repeatable process for MT4400 cab removal and reconnection, setting the foundation for faster fleet movements and future maintenance efficiency.
