More information is coming to light re the three hours of free power for SEQ residents.

It's not what its cracked out to be in certain regards.

What we can take away from the offer is.

The three hour free power period that has been forced onto retailers by the federal government will no doubt cause a rise in cost per kw outside of these periods as the energy retailers will be clawing back their losses.

We are already getting reports from customers that select energy retailers are axing the solar feed in entirely.

Almost guaranteed to see higher daily supply / meter charges.

And finally. It will be mandatory to have a smart meter installed at your home to qualify.

While it sounds great on paper, its not that great in reality as residents and businesses that can not afford a solar and battery system for maximum savings will be hit the hardest.

Seems the devil is in the detail...

The only thing i can take away from this is its even more important to be self reliant with solar and battery storage.

If you don't have a reliance on the grid you are future proofed from these ongoing events in an ever changing energy sector.

Interesting stats, seems battery storage is leading the race for covering night time loads in Australia 👌

Not only do customers benefit financially. It also solves the issue of rising electrical demands on a crippled energy network.

If every home and business in Australia had their own battery and solar system, with minimal reliance on the grid their would be no need for farmland / natural bush clearing for large scale solar and wind turbine projects that won't make sense for the environment, animals or farmers.

Slowly heading the right direction.

600ah of Renogy lithium battery storage with two Renogy core 300ah lithium batteries in parallel using the Renogy 300amp smart battery shunt, Renogy 3000w inverter with charge capabilities. Built in circuit protection and automatic switching from on grid (sure power) to off grid mode.

DCDC all in one mppt. With DC charging from tow vehicle for a combined 50amp fast charge. Connected to the panels on the roof of the van.

Additional MPPT for a second solar input using a renogy rover 40amp unit and a 400w renogy solar blanket on a deans connector externally.

To tie it all up nicely the whole system communicates to the colour touch screen via Bluetooth for full system control at the touch of a button via the Renogy One Core 👌
