The Company
Statewide Concrete Products manufacture and supply quality concrete products to the rural and building industry. From the smallest concrete pavers, to large 21,500 litre water tanks, we not only pride ourselves on the quality of our products, but also the quality of our concrete.
Established in 1985, from a small backyard operation, we have grown to now occupy our purpose built 3 acre site in Hastings on the Mornington Peninsula and live up to our reputation as industry leaders.
Position Responsibilities
The Business Manager (Sales) is responsible for leading a team of professionals in this fast growing, family owned organisation with a focus on ensuring customers' requests are handled in a timely and accurate manner on a consistent basis.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
• Achieving growth and hitting sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
• Design and implement a strategic business plan that expands the company’s customer base whilst ensuring a strong presence
• Build and promote strong, long-lasting relationships by partnering with customers and understanding their needs
• Identify emerging markets whilst understanding market shifts, including competitor analysis
• Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
• Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
• Allocate general and daily responsibilities
• Supervise and train staff and ensure resources are adequate
• Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
• Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
• Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within set budgets
• Resolve problems when they arise
• Preparation of statements and bills
• Maintain customer records related to invoicing and bill payment
• Review work of billing staff to ensure accuracy, resolving inconsistencies as needed
• Provide customer support to customers with disputes or inquiries concerning invoices or billing process
• Ad-hoc duties when required
Position Requirements and Skills
• Proven experience in Sales, Office Management and/or General Management
• Exposure to Xero (or similar software) desirable
• Experience in Plumbing or Civil highly sought after
• Knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines
• Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
• Excellent organisational and leadership skill paired with problem-solving abilities
• Act with discretion, tact, and professionalism in all scenarios
• You are social, friendly and always willing to lend a hand
• Available 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday
