Every year, approximately 1,200 people are killed and a further 44,000 are seriously injured on Australian roads.

National Road Safety Week highlights the importance of road safety, and how we all have a role to play in ensuring that everyone gets home safely.

Our team is made of drivers and operators who care and who take the safety of others and themselves very seriously, safety is important to focus on all year round!

What do our drivers and operators think about road safety? And how do they keep you safe?

It’s time to raise awareness and work together to keep us all safe!

Australia is home to roughly 200,000 truck drivers.

They are skilled in their craft and become masters in logistics, forward planning, and manoeuvring. Imaging trying to navigate a 50T beast through Sydney’s city streets and traffic!

This week is Truck Week, a nationwide celebration of Australia’s heavy vehicle industry and the businesses and drivers who keep Australia moving.

We are so proud of our team of drivers who operate with safety, efficiency, and respect in mind.

Let’s close out Truck Week with Fold-Up Friday!

Today is R U OK? Day in Trucks and Sheds.

“Isn’t R U OK? Day In September?...” Yes! But Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds has partnered with R U OK? for a special campaign specifically to have these important conversations in our industry.

Mental Health is really important to us at Eather Group. We know that in such a high-risk industry, it’s so important to regularly check in and provide accessible resources for the benefit of entire teams.

This year, Healthy Heads has shared the story of our Executive Manager, Sally-ann Eather, as part of their national campaign, which you can read along with other industry stories on their website.

Stay safe out there, and remember to “Ask R U OK? Any day!”

Another Panthers win on the weekend!

We are proud of our corporate involvement with the Penrith Panthers, and continue to learn from their commitment to continuous improvement, building team culture, and community impact.

Penrith has become the team to beat, not just by working hard, but by working better and to their strengths.

Touring the academy, everything is intentional, helping both players and staff to focus on improving their performance and reaching their full potential.

Peter and Sally-ann met up with Casey McLean, who we sponsor, and learned first-hand about his commitment to the game and to his studies.

It’s inspiring to see young men in the spotlight like Casey be a great role model for young people in our community.

Today we were a proud sponsor of the Western Sydney Property & Infrastructure Forum, and enjoyed an insightful day exhibiting to development professionals.

Hosted by The Urban Development Institute of Australia NSW (UDIA NSW), and the Penrith Valley Chamber of Commerce, we enjoyed insights on the forecast of Western Sydney as well as the priorities and initiatives of government and developers.

We enjoyed meeting many of the businesses and individuals who are leading in the private development and subdivision sectors today.

Eather Group strives to always “Work with Impact”. This means doing what we can to provide opportunities, change lives, and leave a positive legacy.

We are drawn to other organisations who share this goal, and Muru Mittigar Ltd is a remarkable example of an organisation that is not only doing good work, but making real change.

It was a pleasure to celebrate this social enterprise’s decades of impact at their “Shared Pathways” event last week, and look forward to following and supporting their successes in the years to come.

And to our friends at Muru Mittigar, thank you for all the work that you do for our community.

When our children and our grandchildren drive past projects we’ve played a part in, we hope they’re proud and say, “my family did that.”

Local work connects local people to their own community, and gives us all a sense of belonging and ownership.

How special is it that in our industry, we have a hand in shaping what our community looks like?

Nepean Business Park is one of those legacy projects for Eather Group and all of our team who worked there.

This project was a logistical triumph for us, and beyond economical and sustainability achievements, the work provided pathways for local youths, women, and First Nations Peoples at a time of global job instability. It was the training ground to up-skill dozens of operators and team leaders.

Three generations of the Eather family have worked on this site since the 1980s, and to be present for the ribbon cutting, standing amongst grass and roads and buildings, was surreal and fulfilling, and filled our team with immense pride.

This development is destined to provide over 1400 local jobs in various trades and industries.

Congratulations to family-owned Precinct Capital for their achievements thus far in developing the site, and for their vision to support a vibrant local economy in Penrith.

We’re proud to have played a part in this community legacy project, and will continue to follow its successes closely.

Last week we hosted a luncheon for the Acciona Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) Metro project team.

We have been working on the WHT project for a few years, and this was an opportunity to share some of the outcomes we have achieved working together. Reliable work from major projects such as WHT support our employment opportunities and business growth.

We took the team down to sizzle some snags and meet the crews and were able to talk about Mozza's Way, particularly highlighting the thousands of dollars that our truck MAURI1 has raised just by kilometres driven on this project.

We had a lot of leftover food, which was picked up and donated to The Haven - Nepean Women's Shelter to use over the long weekend.

Thank you to the WHT team for having us, and to our gun EG lunch crew who fed the masses!
