FlexiSense doesn't just bend and flex... it also STRETCHES!

Since 2017, Sleeptite and RMIT University have been collaborating to take a fundamental research breakthrough from Professors Madhu Bhaskaran and Sharath Sriram and turning it into a commercially viable technology and range of products.

Our primary focus and drive has always been on products deployed as regulated medical devices into settings... BUT... can you imagine the utility of stretchable sensors that can be easily manufactured and embedded into various types of materials?

Sleeptite didn't just patent protect the device... we also protected the manufacturing process... 😎

Not bad for a little Aussie owned and run company... don't you think?

🌙 Every night is a risk. Every night, we're working to change that.

Last week, our Founder & CEO Cameron van den Dungen took the stage at the Care Economy CRC conference in Melbourne to share how Sleeptite is redefining what's possible when technology meets care.

Sleeptite is proud to be a Core Partner of the Care Economy CRC; a partnership that gives us the right framework, backed by rigorous ethics oversight and Federal Government funding, to go further and move faster than we could alone.

And we're not slowing down. We've got some exciting projects in the pipeline through this partnership that we can't wait to share... watch this space. 👀

Because at Sleeptite, we don't think about care as one sector. We think about impact across aged care, hospitals, disability care and home care.

Wherever someone sleeps, we believe there's an opportunity to help make that night safer, and life a little better.

That's the future we're building. And we're just getting started.

Proud moment for the Sleeptite team, we're in this weekend's Financial Review, in a piece on R&D Tax Incentive changes and the impact on Australian manufacturers and companies.

For anyone who doesn't know us: Sleeptite is a Melbourne company building non-invasive, in-bed monitoring technology that can alert aged care staff before a resident falls; no wearables, no wires. Nine years of work has gone into getting here.

The article talks about the "valley of death" ... the expensive, high-risk stage between a working prototype and a product you can actually sell ... and how proposed changes to the R&D Tax Incentive could hit companies like ours right when we need support most.

Thanks to journalist Brittney Levinson for the feature, and to the Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre for the introduction.

Tonight we pause to honour the remarkable life of Neale Daniher.

Neale’s battle with Motor Neurone Disease was one fought with extraordinary courage, dignity and unwavering determination. In the face of an unforgiving diagnosis, he chose purpose over despair - becoming one of Australia’s most powerful voices in the fight against MND.

Through his advocacy, Neale didn’t just raise awareness, he ignited a movement. From the Big Freeze to tireless campaigning for research funding, his efforts have helped drive hope, progress and crucial investment toward a future free from this devastating disease.

At Sleeptite, we are thinking of Neale’s loved ones, and of every person and family living with MND today. His fight has changed lives and his legacy will carry forward in every breakthrough achieved and every life touched.

Rest In Peace, Neale. Your fight has lit the path for others, and your impact will never be forgotten.

Sydney ✅
Brisbane up next 🔜

Last week at ATSA Independent Living Expo Sydney, we saw how quickly the room leans in when you challenge one simple idea:

👉 A bed isn’t just furniture — it’s a key part of managing falls risk in the home.

At Sleeptite, we’re focused on helping clinicians think differently about bed prescription — because not everything we’ve traditionally relied on actually reduces risk.

Some of the biggest reactions?

- Trendelenburg positioning
- Bed sticks and support devices

This Thursday, we’re continuing the conversation at ATSA Brisbane.

Cameron van den Dungen will be speaking on:
"Rethinking Bed Prescription"

If you work in OT, physio, or assistive technology — come along and be part of it.

📍 Brisbane: 20–21 May

⚡ We’re taking it higher.

This morning the team headed to the Discovery to Device lab — and let’s just say, the future of REMi just got a whole lot closer.

We’re partnering with some of Australia’s brightest minds to harness world-class plant, equipment and talent right here in Melbourne.

Faster prototyping. Accelerated design. Local hardware development that doesn’t wait for anyone.

REMi isn’t just coming. It’s being built.

📣 SEMINAR PROGRAM: Cameron van den Dungen - CEO, Sleeptite | ‘Rethinking Bed Prescription: An Evidence-Based Approach for Modern Assistive Technology Practice'

Bed prescription is one of the most misunderstood areas in assistive technology, and new evidence is revealing just how far myth has drifted from reality. In this energising session, we cut through the noise with clear, research backed insights that are already transforming clinical practice nationally. Walk away with sharper judgement, stronger reasoning, and a safer, more effective approach to bedding prescription.
Across Australia, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Assistive Technology retailers are encountering an increasing amount of conflicting information when it comes to bed prescription. As a result, many long standing practices are being applied without clear evidence; and in some cases, contrary to what the research actually shows.

This presentation delivers a fresh, data driven perspective on bed prescription, drawing on recent collaborative work with several Australian universities. It brings forward new evidence, challenges common assumptions, and offers a clearer clinical framework for assessing risk, function, and safety in bedding-related assistive technology.

Attendees will explore contemporary research on key areas of bed prescription, understand how certain routinely cited risks have been overstated or misinterpreted, and learn how to differentiate between genuine clinical hazards and outdated or inaccurate guidance. This session equips clinicians and retailers with a more confident, evidence aligned approach that supports better outcomes for clients, caregivers, and service providers.

Participants will leave with actionable strategies that can be applied immediately in their clinical reasoning and prescription processes.
