A thoughtful restoration that brings new life to a classic feature.

Tessellated tile porches were a defining element of homes built in the early 1900s, and restoring them requires both care and precision. This entrance was taken right back to its foundation, re-screeded and fully waterproofed to ensure it not only looks beautiful, but performs for years to come.

The client chose a completely new tessellated tile design, framed with a bluestone slate border to create a strong, welcoming statement at the front of the home. It’s a detail that respects the home’s heritage while introducing a refined, updated finish.

A well-designed entrance sets the tone for everything that follows, and this one is made to be both timeless and inviting.

A statement kitchen doesn’t always need to be bright or bold. But in this home, black was exactly the right choice.

As the centrepiece of the home, a kitchen’s colour palette and material selection play a major role in how the space feels and functions day to day.

For this project, black cabinetry was paired with a contrasting white island to create balance and definition within the space. The island benchtop was carried through into the splashback, while the timber feature detailing matched the same timber species used in the flooring to create continuity throughout the home.

It’s the careful integration of colours, textures and materials that gives a kitchen its character. When thoughtfully considered, these elements not only make a space stand out visually, but also ensure it functions practically for everyday living.
