A touch of pink across the SMS Mining Services Perth office this morning in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 💗

The team came together for morning tea, sharing a cuppa and a catch-up while showing support for those affected by breast cancer.

It was a chance to take a moment and encourage conversations about awareness, early detection and making time to look after our health.

A big thank you to everyone who helped organise the morning tea and to the team for getting involved and adding a little pink to the day.

Two CAT 789s are back on the move following successful rebuilds through the SMS Mining Services workshop.

Both trucks underwent extensive rebuild work before progressing through reassembly, testing, commissioning and final inspections. Now loaded and heading back to site, they’re ready for their next stage of operation with renewed reliability and service life.

A great result from the SMS team — rebuilding major mining equipment and getting it back where it belongs: on site and moving tonnes.

A milestone worth celebrating in Kalgoorlie.

Last week, the SMS Mining Services team came together to celebrate 10 years of our Kalgoorlie Workshop, marking a decade of growth, hard work, and strong partnerships.

The evening was also an opportunity to recognise three team members who have been part of the Kalgoorlie Workshop journey from day one. Their 10 years of dedication, hard work, and commitment have contributed significantly to the growth and success of our operations over the past decade.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate this milestone, and congratulations to the entire Kalgoorlie team on an incredible 10 years.

Another new addition to the SMS Mining Services fleet — the CAT 988 Next Gen Wheel Loader.

Fresh into the fleet and already being put through its paces, this CAT 988 Next Gen is undergoing our pre-operational inspection process before heading to site.

Every machine in the SMS fleet goes through a detailed inspection and preparation process before mobilisation — whether it’s brand new, fully rebuilt or returning from a previous hire. It’s all part of ensuring our equipment arrives on site well prepared and ready to perform from day one.

Built for high-production loading applications, the CAT 988 Next Gen Aggregate Handler adds further capability to our growing wheel loader fleet, with factory-installed TPMS, payload monitoring and object detection as standard.

Another quality addition to the SMS fleet, and we’re looking forward to seeing this one get to work.
