Project update: The completion of demotllition, excavation works, and the first foundation concrete pour mark the exciting start of what will be an incredible architecturally designed home in West Hobart.

This home is set to stun featuring a stylish exterior that combines recycled brick with a German schmear render and pre-aged rough-sawn recycled Jarrah shiplap boards. The exterior will be complemented by Interior walls of exposed brick and fine veneer panelling and a burnished concrete slab floor with integrated hydronic heating, custom made windows and bespoke cabinetry.

We are really enjoying this project, and can't wait to share more updates as the build progresses.

While we didn’t take home the award this year, being recognised as a HIA Tasmanian Awards finalist is an incredible honour in itself.

The Jordyn Properties team are proud to officially announce that we have been named a Finalist in the 2025 HIA Tasmanian Awards for our Opossum Bay Purpose Built Project!

This breathtaking waterfront retreat blends modern elegance with unbeatable views, proving that good things really do come in small packages. At just 100m², the home maximises every inch of its 220m² block, pairing smart design with sleek, low-maintenance finishes. Expansive windows flood the space with natural light, while modern cladding creates a sophisticated coastal aesthetic.

Designed by John Weston Architectural Design and brought to life by our team, this project is a true showcase of style, innovation, and craftsmanship.

We’re honoured to once again be recognised alongside so many outstanding projects across Tasmania.

In collaboration with Melbourne architect Marlee Dawson, the Jordyn Properties team are proud to share one of our latest projects located in West Hobart.

The homes exterior juxtaposes recycled brickwork, softened with a delicate German schmear render, against the textured grain of pre-aged, rough sawn Jarrah shiplap boards. Inside, a combination of bricks and veneer wall paneling, is complemented by hydronically heated, hit and miss burnished concrete floors and custom-crafted timber windows. Contemporary joinery crafted from timber and veneer panels with stainless steel bench tops will be installed offering a refined counterpoint to the natural elements throughout the home.

This is more than a build. It is a considered expression of place, light and material; a home designed to sit gently within its landscape while standing as a testament to its design. Work has already begun, demolishing the existing residence and laying foundations for the build. We will document and share the process on our social media, so make sure you’re following us to see the vision come to life.

It’s award season and we are so pleased to be able to congratulate on his 2024 Building Design Awards win for this Inner City Hobart, heritage extension. The Jordyn Properties team were fortunate to work alongside John on this project, as we have done and will continue to do on so many others.
This property is a testament to what can be achieved, even in a small area and with a modest budget, when a quality architectural designer is engaged in the process. Congratulations John, this is a very well deserved win!

WE DID IT! Design Matters National 2024 East Coast of Australia (SA, ACT, NSW, VIC, TAS, QLD) Residential Additions and Alterations up to $500k Category Winner! I'm shocked. We won with a build that only cost $187k and punched well above our weight against builds near 3 times the cost. Congratulations also goes to Jordyn Properties Pty Ltd . Darren Fassina and your boys completed a high quality build and you should be proud of your work. I can't wait to enter more recently completed projects in the 2025 awards and again put quality Tasmanian design and builds on the national map.

Admiring the kitchen of our HIA award nominated heritage renovation… Unfortunately we didn’t take home the win this time, but we are incredibly honoured to have been nominated, and so proud of the beautiful work our team created. This kitchen is truly where sleek design meets everyday functionality. The clean, minimalist white cabinets and spacious waterfall island bench add an effortless elegance, while natural light pours in through skylights, bringing a sense of openness and calm.
