G'day Everyone!
Since our last update, NT Bitumen & Asphalt has completed two more mobilisations to the Carpentaria Highway, sealing an extra 20km of main road, and constructing a brand-new truck parking area.
This means that the first 60km of road from the Stuart Highway at Daly Waters Hiway Inn has been sealed to 9 metres in width. There is also another new sealed section between the 100 – 110km mark. NT Bitumen will spend the rest of the year closing the gap.
Along with the principal contractor – Exact Contracting – NTBA hope to smash out another 40 – 50km of pavement before the wet season. The aim, therefore, is to have the first 110 – 120km of road completed by end of year.

The crew are currently back in Darwin enjoying a well-earned rest. They are expected to head back down the track next week for another stint on both the Carpentaria Highway and Tanami Road (more updates from the Tanami coming shortly).
