We are currently looking for applicants the fill the position of Senior Farmhand. In this position you will be based at Wallal Downs Station which is situated right on the West Coast at Eighty Mile Beach, in the Broome Region of Western Australia.
Primary tasks will involve but not limited to;
- providing direct assistance to the Overseer and Farmhands by helping in the production of grass for hay and silage across our fifteen 48-hectare pivots.
- Required to operate and maintain various plant and equipment; tractors, loaders, fertilizer spreaders, rakes, mower conditioners and balers; which are all used whilst fertilizing, cutting, raking, and baling.
additional tasks may at times involve but not limited to;
- working in a mixed team of people in all facets of cattle handling; including mustering, drafting, processing, feeding and watering animals.
- Your responsibilities will include and not be limited to all facets of animal handling, husbandry and welfare.
- Required to use Low Stock Stress handling to manage the handling of the cattle whilst on foot and on two-wheel motorbikes whilst mustering.
- Required to drive manual vehicles and operate various types of machinery and small trucks.
- Required to undertake various aspects of fencing, maintaining waters and feeding lick and supplements to cattle.
- Willingness to learn, work independently and follow directions. Communication and basic record keeping skills are essential

Great to catch up with the team from Parks and Wildlife at FeNaCLNG over the weekend. A really good conversation about where drones fit into land management work in this region — and plenty of common ground.
With some of our services able to help in the field straight away, with AI feral animal counting being tested for feral pigs and our spray drone capabilities in complex and hard to reach areas.

Two big days, a lot of sunshine, and more conversations than we could count.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the stand — the ones who came for a look at the T25, the kids who wanted to know how fast it goes, and the many, many people who stuck around to ask what these aircraft actually do out on site.

We handed out brochures until we nearly ran out. That says a lot about where the Pilbara’s head is at right now.

A few highlights from the weekend:

✅ The AGRAS T25 with our solar wash boom prototype drew a crowd all weekend — a lot of people had no idea drones were cleaning solar farms out here
✅ The M4T and M3E gave people a look at the thermal and mapping side of the work
✅ And the biggest talking point of all: local drone training is coming to Karratha

Many Business owners, supervisors and operators kept asking the same question — how do we get our own people licensed without sending them south? Through our partnership with Global Drone Solutions, the answer is now: you don’t have to.

RePL sub-25kg, medium RPA to 150kg, and AROC. Five days. Right here in town.

We’ve got a stack of conversations to follow up on over the coming weeks, and we’re genuinely looking forward to every one of them.

🚁 Day two. Last chance.

Yesterday was massive — thanks to everyone who came past, asked good questions, and let us talk drones for eight hours straight.
Special mention to every kid who wanted to know if the big one could lift them. (It could. We’re not going to.)

We’re back at Bulgarra Oval today until 10pm.

🚁 The drones are coming to Bulgarra Oval.

This weekend we’re bringing the fleet down to the FeNaCLNG Festival so the community can see what actually flies over Pilbara worksites every week.

On the ground with us:

AGRAS T25 — our agricultural workhorse. Spray, spreading, seeding. Come and stand next to it, because photos genuinely don’t do the size justice.

Also, we will have our solar panel washing payload prototype on static display.

Matrice 4T — the thermal aircraft. This is what we use for solar farm fault-finding, powerline and asset inspection, and after-hours site surveillance.

Mavic 3E — survey and mapping. Small, but it’s done more site inspections than the rest of the fleet combined.

We’ll also have footage running on the screen all weekend — real jobs, real Pilbara sites — so you can see the aircraft doing the work, not just sitting still. Brochures there too if you want to take something home.

And the big news: accredited drone training is coming to Karratha. 🎓

We’ve partnered with Global Drone Solutions to deliver nationally recognised certification right here in town — the first local provider in the region.

The full course covers:
✅ RePL (sub-25kg) — the licence that lets you fly commercially
✅ Medium RPA endorsement up to 150kg — the big agricultural and lifting aircraft
✅ AROC — aeronautical radio operator certificate
✅ Five days, start to finish, delivered in Karratha

Until now, licensing a Pilbara workforce meant sending people to Perth. Not any more. Same accreditation, same standard, delivered locally by instructors who fly in Pilbara heat, dust and wind.

Big milestone for the team at Pilbara Drones.

We're proud to share that we are now accredited under the AAUS Drone Industry Accreditation Program 2026.

The Australian Association for Uncrewed Systems (AAUS) is the national body for our industry, and this accreditation recognises that we meet their standards for safe, professional and compliant drone operations.

It's a great result for a Karratha-based business, and it reflects the way we approach every job across the Pilbara, Gascoyne and Kimberley — safety first, always.
