Supplying strength for the M1 — 95,000 tonnes of MB20 delivered with zero non-conformances.

Hunter Quarries recently completed the supply of MB20 (Modified Granular Base) for John Holland’s M1 Motorway upgrade project — a total of 95,000 tonnes produced and delivered to TfNSW R73 specification.

Throughout the entire supply period, not a single Non-Conformance Report (NCR) or Quality Improvement Process (QIP) was raised. This result is a testament to the skill and consistency of our Production and Quality teams.

From rigorous material testing to stockpile control and delivery coordination — every tonne was backed by process, precision, and pride.

Darryn joined the team in August 2024 and has been leading Hunter Quarries operations with a steady hand ever since. With an extensive background in maintenance and a passion for safety, Darryn’s calm, clear approach has driven continuous improvement on site. He’s all about getting stuck into the real issues—without the noise.

Whether it’s keeping machines turning or working with the crew to refine day-to-day operations, Darryn brings a practical mindset and solid leadership to the table.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find him with his dogs or cheering on his beloved Parramatta Eels.
