Heads up! The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program moves to a tiered system on 1 May 2026. It hasn’t ended, it just pays out differently.

After‑May 1, 2026 (through 2026)

Tier 1 (first 14 kWh usable): ~ $244/kWh
Tier 2 (15–28 kWh): ~ 60% of Tier 1 (~ $146/kWh)
Tier 3 (29–50 kWh): ~ 15% of Tier 1 (~ $37/kWh)
