📍 Progress Update | Main Dam Embankment Road

The drone has been up again, capturing the latest along the Main Dam Embankment Road (MDER) as part of the Argyle Diamond Mine Closure Project.

We have just wrapped up the mudrock placement and compaction across this section, bringing the road up to its required design profile and levels. A solid milestone for this stretch of the works. ✅

Next up, we start loading and hauling growth media (GM) into the area, ready to spread across the completed surfaces as we move into the next stage of rehabilitation.

Step by step, returning this landscape to a safe and stable state. 🌱

Delivering projects safely and efficiently is not luck. It is the way we work.

At MDM Mining & Civil, it comes down to a strong safety culture, a modern fleet backed by the latest GPS and machine control technology, and over 40 years of experience behind every decision. The result is work that is completed safely, on time and on budget, even in the most remote corners of WA.

Proudly Indigenous-operated and Kimberley-based, delivering earthworks and mining projects the right way. 🤝

Investing in our people goes beyond the job at hand.

The MDM team recently completed First Aid Training, delivered by SETS Enterprises, building practical skills that help our people look out for one another both on site and beyond.

For us, a strong team is one that’s trained, supported and ready to step up when it matters.

A great session with the crew and another valuable skill to take with them wherever they go.

Thanks to SETS Enterprises for delivering the training.

What does it actually take to build a spillway?

At Telecom Ridge Spillway, it means constructing 4–5 layers of different materials, with each layer placed and trimmed to stringent tolerances before the next can begin.

It’s highly controlled work, but the end result is significant.

Once complete, the Telecom Ridge Spillway will allow the Tailings Facility to drain naturally when required, meaning the decant pumps and pipework that have been relied on for decades can finally be removed.

A lot of precision goes into creating something designed to work naturally.

Another project delivered. Another landscape restored. 👏
MDM Mining & Civil is proud to have completed the Smoke Creek Deconstruction & Rehabilitation Project ahead of schedule in the East Kimberley.

From demolishing redundant infrastructure and removing waste to rehabilitating the Tailings Storage Facility, camp area and stockpiles, our team worked hard to help return this former exploration site back to Country.

A huge thank you to the Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration for trusting us to deliver this important project as part of the WA Abandoned Mines Program, and to Thuroona Services Pty Ltd for their demolition expertise.

We're proud to continue delivering meaningful mine rehabilitation projects across remote Western Australia. 🌿
