Superlative thermal performance Interested? Then read on…………………The screenshot is from David and Sarah’s h**pcrete home in Lyonville. What’s remarkable is that the comfortable internal temperature of 19.8 degrees Celsius is without a heater. In fact David and Sarah won’t need to fire up their wood heater until late June and even then it’s seldomly used. This is because h**pcrete has the ability to both insulate and store heat, providing a passive means of regulating relative humidity thereby reducing, if not eliminating the reliance on mechanical heating, cooling and ventilation. From a potato paddock to a beautiful h**pcrete home. What Sarah & David have created on their Lyonville property is nothing short of extraordinary. It has won a couple of sustainability awards and recently featured in ‘The New Sustainable House’ book with a centre spread of their kitchen. The house demonstrates the strengths of using natural materials and the relative high thermal performance. There are still tickets available to visit the house this Sunday.
