👋 Meet the Mini Apprentices

Meet Carter, Riley & Byron — our three little boys and LCJ’s mini apprentices 🔨💙

They love getting involved with Dad whenever they can, whether it’s helping out with little jobs, checking out what he’s working on or asking a million questions along the way.

We asked them what they want to be when they grow up…

🔨 Carter: A builder
🪚 Riley: “Do what Dad does… build kitchens and play golf” 😂
🍴 Byron: “I’m hungry” 🤦‍♀️😂

Who knows, maybe one day we’ll have a builder and another cabinet maker joining the team… we’re not quite sure about Byron yet 😂

Making use of every bit of space 👌

This under stair area was transformed into custom built-in storage, designed to follow the angle of the staircase and make the most of what was previously unused space.

Finished in Colourpyne ‘Alpine White’, with push-to-open doors for a clean, seamless look. Inside, there’s a combination of adjustable shelving and drawers to keep everything organised.

A simple addition with plenty of hidden storage 🙌

A big transformation for this Lake Cathie kitchen!

The original layout was completely changed to open up the space and create a more functional kitchen that flows into the surrounding living areas.

Finished in Colourpyne ‘Alpine White’, paired with 20mm Zenith ‘Element Grey’ stone benchtops. The new layout includes plenty of storage and a large island, providing extra bench space while opening the kitchen up to the rest of the home.

We love how much brighter and more open this space now feels 👌

👋 Meet the Owner – Mitch

Thought it was about time we properly introduced the face behind Lake Cathie Joinery!

Mitch started his joinery apprenticeship straight out of school at just 16 in Dubbo before making the move to the Mid North Coast 13 years ago, where he finished his apprenticeship.

Three years ago, Mitch took the leap and started Lake Cathie Joinery. Since then, he’s been designing, building and installing kitchens, wardrobes, laundries and custom cabinetry for clients across the Mid North Coast.

Outside of work, Mitch and his wife Bec have three young boys (or “apprentices”) who keep them busy.

When he does find a bit of spare time, you’ll usually find him cheering on his beloved Roosters, out on the golf course, or working on his own home reno’s.

~ Outdoor Kitchen | Port Macquarie ~

Another project we completed for a client in Port Macquarie 👌

This outdoor kitchen was designed to make entertaining easy, with plenty of bench space, storage, a built-in BBQ, sink, dishwasher and bar fridge.

We used compact laminate doors, making them a great waterproof choice for an outdoor area, paired with a 40mm Quantum Zero ‘Metro Concrete’ benchtop. The matching stone splashback and waterfall ends finish it off nicely and give it a really seamless look.

A big thanks to North Coast Marble & Granite - NCMG for supplying and installing the stone.

Really happy with how this one turned out!
