Solar isn’t a set-and-forget system ☀️
Our customer recently asked us to inspect a solar system they inherited when they purchased their home.
From the ground, it looked like a normal solar install — just panels on a roof, right?
But once we got up there… this is what we found 👆
❌Heavy dirt and organic build-up trapped under panels
❌Wiring exposed, poorly supported and sitting in debris
❌Junction boxes and cable entries not sealed correctly
❌Signs of long-term moisture and deterioration
❌Multiple cracked roof tiles concealed beneath the system
Due to the condition of the install, our recommendation was the complete removal of this unsafe system.
Poor workmanship from the very beginning, coupled with an unmaintained solar system, led to ongoing roof damage and electrical safety concerns that simply weren’t visible from ground level.
This is exactly why solar inspections matter.
If you’ve purchased a home with an existing solar system — or your system hasn’t been checked in years — an inspection can identify issues before they turn into leaks, electrical faults, or major repair costs.
Solar systems can last 25+ years… but only when they’re installed correctly and properly maintained.
