Juwest team tested the furniture for the New Stargazing pad they constructed in Menzies, and said “very comfortable, so long as you keep your eyes open you will see the star’s beautifully!”

Yesterday afternoon we had to put the Juwest Team Mascot ‘Dougie’ to rest.
Dougie has been with us since very early 2019 and has created much love and laughter in our camp and the broader community to those that knew him.

He quite regularly used to come home with treats he had collected from people, a sausage roll, piece of chocolate cake, chicken legs and pieces of meat.

The Juwest team would head out to destinations and find Dougie half way there sitting on the back in the rear view mirrors.

Ultimately Dougie considered his major job was to protect us from the many break ins we have, often at large detriment to himself.

This unfortunately led him to chasing the wrong people and we had to start keeping him locked up. He never showed any aggression to our team or people he knew that were around so it was and is very difficult for us to understand.

Unfortunately 2 nights ago was an incident where he chased an unfortunate person and bit them on the ankle which is unacceptable.

He has had a few similar incidences we believe and this last one resulted in him having to be put down yesterday which has devastated us all.

We do understand why and hold no ill will to the authorities and our deepest apologies, regret, and concern goes out to the person that was hurt and anyone else he has harassed over recent times

We love you dearly Dougie you looked after us well, gave us much love and laughter and now you can rest peacefully ######x
