Life Hacks: Don’t chase “free power.” Chase “self-use.”
𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿.
It is using your own power before it leaves the house.
Feed-in tariffs vary by retailer and plan, so the smarter move is to run heavy appliances during solar hours: pool pump, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, hot water, EV charger, and battery charging.

𝟮. 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿.
Use timers. Run the big loads between roughly 10am and 3pm. That is when your panels are usually producing hard and your grid power use can drop fast.

𝟯. 𝗕𝘂𝘆 𝗮 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗳.
Most people ask, “How many panels can fit?”
Better question:
“What system size matches my daytime usage, future battery, aircon, hot water, and EV plans?”
⠀
The wrong solar setup can cost you $1,000s in missed savings over the life of your system.
Oversizing can be smart, but only if you can use, store, or get paid properly for the power.
Want a solar system built around your real power bill, not just your roof size?
