Successful Endeavours Pty Ltd

Successful Endeavours Pty Ltd Successful Endeavours designs products that are then Made in Australia.

Successful Endeavours exists to change the Australian economy by designing valuable electronics products that are then Made in Australia. This is a process known as Product Development and involves a number of stages including:
- ideation and concept development
- research and risk mitigation
- prototypes
- core development including electronics, software and mechanical engineering
- producti

on typical prototypes and customer trials
- production preparation, tooling, compliance certification and pilot runs

At the end of this process you have a product ready to make profitably, in volume, in Australia.

Why manufacturing?
- Manufacturing creates fundamental value
- Creates lots of direct jobs in the businesses doing the manufacturing
- Even more jobs in the businesses that support them
- Spreads wealth through the community more evenly than any other industry because it creates employment at every level
- Provides resources and capability for the future

If you look around the world at the best performing economies, they all have a significant proportion of local, high value or advanced manufacturing. Germany's manufacturing exports exceed Australia's GDP. And they have a similar cost of doing business compared to Australia.

If you are a manufacturer, or a business that needs a product for an opportunity, then you can get us to design your next product offering. And we could also make it for you but you are not locked into that if you have your own capability or an existing manufacturer you want to keep working with. Either way, we understand making products and can provide the production support systems needed as well as the product design.

At some point our grandchildren will be in charge and I want to leave them an awesome economy, fully functional and full of value, so they can make the world a better place and have the resources to fix whatever mess we leave them. And that means we have to be able to Make Stuff Here!

So that is our mission. Supporting Australian manufacturing by better product development and then making valuable product here.

A really practical look at opamps in case you wanted to understand a bit more.
Note that to solve a lot of circuit challenges in a robust way you also need to understand the 'hard stuff' which is what we bring to the table.

Physical AI for precision manufacturing is getting some attention. But what does that mean?

First of all, this is physics aware AI rather than just language processing. Which is important because if you are going to build real things, they need to work in the real world.

It can also reduce the cycle time from need identification to solution but you can't cut corners on process.

We work across discipline boundaries so a new, smart electronics product you are going to make profitably in Australia will have requirements that need to be functionally decomposed across electronics, embedded software, physical / mechanical, chemical (if relevant) and support infrastructure, apps and services. So Physical AI helps some of that but not all of that and you still need to make decisions about how to meet requirements and why to meet them in a specific way.

This feels like an evolutionary rather than revolutionary step.

Physical AI is emerging as a major shift in engineering software, enabling faster design, simulation and validation. Here’s what it means for Australian manufacturers.

we are proud to be partnering with Spur Violins who make the most amazing sounding acoustic violins right here in Kyneton Victoria. We are providing the electronic preamplifier systems and you can hear them in action here when Sarah Curro uses a Spur Violins SA251 Semi-Acoustic violin to do a shared musical lead break with an electric guitarist.

It is a great concert so go back and listen from the start.

Extremely helpful discussion here. Covers some of my favourite topics.
-schools don't know just how varied the roles are in Australian manufacturing
- traditional low value low cost manufacture is not the future but high value high complexity definitely works
- manufacturing isn't dead but manufacturers have not been good at their own PR and visibility
- consortiums can allow smaller Australian manufacturers to win bigger contracts
- productivity is about what you get done, not how visible those activities are to managers
- things are changing and there are both opportunities and threats. Are you paying attention.
- we need to embrace robotics more and we will see this over the next 5 years
- AI: we need to get beyond the hype and if you sack all the workers, who can afford to buy your product?

Really deep and useful conversation. Thanks Paul and Marcus

2026 Tech Predictions anyone?
Each Year IEEE put out their tech predictions including the top 10. We have gone over them and I've picked my top 3 from that list.

I also look at the top question for AI: will AI replace entry level tech jobs?

Some excellent points made by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney said to the World Economic Forum in Davos about how international trade relationships are changing. I took this as a very optimistic presentation with some great points we should be considering here in Australia and it can ultimately work out better for everyone if we change our perspectives on what is possible for both contribution and reward

Thank you, Larry. It’s a pleasure – and a duty – to be with you at this turning point for Canada and for the world.Today, I’ll talk about the rupture in the world order, the end of a nice story, and the beginning of a brutal reality where geopolitics among the great powers is not subject to a...
