A fun little project whipping up these blocks for my wife’s baby shower earlier this year. It’s pretty special that Theodore will get to play with blocks hand made by me and decorated by the people who love him.

For those looking for a little DIY for their kids, these are super easy to make & a bunch of fun. Older kids could even decorate their own.

For these ones, I laminated pieces of recycled hardwood together using wood glue. Once laminated, I cut them into blocks, beveled the edges & sanded. After they were decorated I sealed them with a natural, food safe beeswax because we all know they are going straight in the mouth 🙊

Sorry I’ve been a bit quiet on here lately, I’ve been busy working on a very special project. Say hi to my son, Theodore Maverick Brickwood.

I’ve been getting back on the tools recently though & have a few older projects to share, so expect to see some cool stuff in the coming days/weeks.

A custom made tassie oak camera cabinet with hand cut dovetail joints for Matty’s 30th present. Be sure to check out Lemonade Springs for all your video needs!

This was a particularly hard job as it was my first time trying these joints but it turned out great and he was wrapped with his new space! I love finding new ways to perfect my craft! 🪵🪚

A very special job for an adorable little client. 🐴

My wife and I worked together to create this one of a kind rocking horse as a first birthday gift that this little one could enjoy for years to come.

It was made using 12ml marine grade hardwood ply, with walnut stained Tasmanian Oak safety bars for a little bit of contrast. We upholstered the seat with a cushion and some beautiful material from to ensure Olive was comfortable & give it that perfect finishing touch. 👌🏼

It made me so happy watching how much Olive loved it & didn’t not want to get out. I truly love what I do and how much joy people can get out of my creations. I also love that my wife is so interested in what I do and we are able to create sentimental pieces together like this one for the people closest to us. 😊️♥️

This year all my best mates turn 30 so I thought instead of buying presents I would custom build something for them.

had been trying to find the perfect barn door for his new place for months, so I thought a handmade one would be the perfect gift.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This was built with a recycled Blackbutt frame and v joint paneling, then a few coats of walnut stain to bring it together and tie into his house.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He absolutely loved it and it was a great one to work on. Would love to make another one, if you’ve been on the hunt and would like a custom Brickwood Built creation let me know!

This was a fun little project I worked on with my wife for our best mates wedding present. 🏄‍♂️🚐

We crafted the surfboard and fin out of Blackbutt and the stringer from karri, using biscuit joins to combine the two hardwoods. We then customised it with wooden letter cut outs (thanks to my mates dad’s CNC machine) & a painting of their kombi to finish it off. 🙌🏼
