What a week of creativity at Perth Sewing Centre!
Our classroom has certainly been busy — and just look at what everyone has been making!

Round We Go Circle Bag Workshop with Jackie
These fabulous round bags came together beautifully! Lots of learning, stitching, shaping and finishing… with some gorgeous results to take home.

My Design Center Class with Jackie
This week Jackie showed everyone how to create their very own city scene complete with a beautiful sunset background using My Design Center. It’s amazing what you can create once you know how to bring all those tools together!

Beginners Sewing Course – Week Three
Our beginner sewists tackled zippy box bags this week — zips, corners, construction and all! And WOW… what an awesome result from every single one of them! 👏
Three weeks in and their confidence and skills are growing beautifully.

Ever wondered what happens at our Monday Sit ’n Sew?

Maybe the better question is… what DOESN’T happen?!

Quilts, bags, runners, works-in-progress, finished masterpieces, plenty of chatting, lots of laughs… and somehow, amongst all of that, an impressive amount of sewing gets done too!

Our Monday ladies are a bunch of very busy, very talented bees and we absolutely love seeing the variety of projects that appear each week.

🧵 Week 2 of our Beginners Sewing Course — Lined Tote Bags!

Our beginners were back at the machines this week, building on the skills they learnt in Week 1 and tackling a fully lined tote bag.

From cutting and preparing fabric, to sewing handles, creating the lining and bringing everything together, there was plenty to learn… and look at these finished bags!

From bright florals and daisies to lemons, caterpillars and picnic prints — A fantastic job by everyone, with some very handy new sewing skills added along the way.

Next week… zips!

It’s only Wednesday… and somehow we’ve already squeezed a whole week’s worth into three days!

🧵 Monday – Sit ’n Sew
We had a very special moment celebrating Steph’s news — she’s now officially Nanna Browne!
The group put together a beautiful bundle basket, with something contributed by each person, to celebrate the arrival of Steph’s gorgeous granddaughter, Bethany Mae. 💕

🧵 Tuesday – Overlock time!
Lynne kept everyone busy with her Block of the Month Overlocker class — lots of stitching, learning and, of course, a little chatting along the way!

🧵 Wednesday – Hoop ’n Stitch
Today it was Steph’s “Hoop ’n Stitch” embroidery class, with machines humming and hoops moving!

And it’s STILL only Wednesday…
At this rate, we’ll all be needing a “Nanna nap” by Friday! 😂

Today was Day 1 of our 5-week Beginners Sewing Course 🧵

I have to say, it is such an absolute pleasure to be able to provide a space that brings such lovely people together.

There was something so special about today — seeing everyone laughing, learning new skills and creating. The room was full of concentration, creativity and plenty of smiles.

Days like today are a reminder of why we do what we do. All the hard work behind the scenes feels completely worth it when you get to watch people come together, learn something new and enjoy themselves.

And look at what they created on Day 1! 🙌

I’m already looking forward to seeing what the next four weeks bring. Thank you Suzanne for an awesome class!

What a full Club Day today! 🧵

We had such a great time chatting all things bag making — from bag hardware and stabilisers to zips and KAM presses. There were lots of tips, ideas and inspiration shared by everyone who attended.

And of course, we absolutely loved the Show & Tell! So many beautiful creations, with such a wonderful variety of fabrics, finishes and techniques on display.

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such an enjoyable day.
