If you are renovating or repairing your home and disturb asbestos, causing it to spread to other homes in your neighbourhood, you may be liable for the clean-up cost as well as compensation.

Your home insurance and/or owner-builder insurance policy is unlikely to cover these costs, as most do not include asbestos related incidents.

It is often cheaper, easier and always safer to engage a licensed asbestos removalist. Licensed asbestos professionals have the training and equipment needed to safely handle, remove and dispose of asbestos.
