Many times I've mentioned that you need to be qualified to install a battery system, but some people just don't listen.
Some people have lost everything as insurance doesn't cover you when something goes wrong.

More people are cobbling together dangerous backyard power storage systems, and Victoria's energy safety regular says they are an "explosion waiting to happen".

**WARNING**
A recent house fire has caused significant damage, caused by a DIY lithium ion battery.
The owner had a solar system set up with panels leaning against the fence, wiring running along the ground and "through" the door - literally, and into the house to the DIY battery made up of used cells of unknown origin.
The whole setup was quite dangerous to begin with, and the results speak for itself. Its also quite likely the insurance wont pay out either as it was all non compliant or safe.
Link to fire services video is attached below.

We only use quality LFP batteries, not NMC or Lithium ion as they are much safer. And all installations are done to the strict Australian Standards.
For a safe and quality installation call us.

Moving my office into a new box/building and while cleaning up some old brochures I found some really old ones, these go back to the late 90s, but I do have some from even earlier to go through yet.
Back then we sold a LOT of BP Solar modules, the biggest panel was 80 watts, and I still remember thinking Wow, imagine the things we can do with this much power when it was released. :)
Considering we now start at 370 watts, and 450w is also common we have certainly come a long way. I was checking out a 610w panel in Sydney a couple of months ago. Suitable for solar farms only of course, at around 1200x2400mm thats far too big for a domestic roof, but its interesting to see how far we have advanced.
Prices have also decreased, I remember paying well over $10/watt, wholesale.
We now sell at around 60c/watt.
Inverters too have decreased dramatically, heres the Latronics 1.5kw grid interactive inverter for $3289.00, circa 2004. We now sell 5kw Inverters for half that.
I've been working with solar energy for over 30 years now, and accumulated many items of what is now historical significance, even though it was new at the time. This is making me feel old......

Theres some insane electricity prices coming very soon, heres just one example effective July 1st, thats only one week away....
Yes thats nearly 83c/kwh in peak times, and 36c off peak. I remember not so long ago when off peak was under 4 cents.
I know my own rates are currently still less than half these prices, but theres a lot of pain and suffering coming for a lot of people, especially those renting who dont have access to any help, and lower income households who can least afford it with interest rates increasing.
Everyone should be checking their rates whether you have a solar system or not, to find a better deal.
And if you dont have solar and/or batteries, then maybe its time to consider it, if these rates continue nobody will be able to afford basic electricity.

Nobody makes an all black ground mount frame, so we had to make our own. We took the standard Clenergy system, covered it with a suitable semi gloss coating, and mounted Winaico all black 370w modules. It came up really well. 50m of underground cabling back to the off grid system through a rock reef slowed the installation down a little, but its done and owner is very happy. An additional 2 x Powerplus lithium batteries onto the existing 8 already in place means plenty of energy storage too.

Sometimes we get to design and build something a bit special. In this iinstance its a 22.5kw 3phase off grid system using 3 x Selectronic inverters, with over 50kw of solar, and 46kwh of Powerplus 120volt lithium batteries for night time backup and a 40kw AC coupled 3phase inverter. All housed in an insulated 20' container with its own aircon to keep it cool in the hot climate its destined for.
Its currently on its way to the Kimberleys in northern WA, hopefully we'll be able to get over there to complete the installation when it arrives.
If you have a specialized design requirement and require a complete solution, we can design and build it.

I'm liking these lithium titanate batteries (the black "tubes" on the wall), especially with a 20 year or 22,000 cycle warranty. This off grid setup in the Grampians came up nicely with an upgrade.

With all the rain lately it has made for some interesting work sites. Walking around in mud all day isnt much fun when its cold, but we did manage to put this one together regardless. Overnight rain made it even worse the following day too.
Off grid system, 44 x 330w panels, 7.5kW Selectronic SpPro inverter with 2 x ABB AC-coupled inverters, one 5kW for the ground mount solar array and the other 6kW for the 24 x roof mounted panels.
The existing batteries were still working so they are still in place.

Check out this beautiful 44kW Full Black Solar System by K C Solar in Maryborough. Chris and the team were the first in the World to install these sensational 370W Full Black Modules for todays post.

With Clenergy black rail and Black, Black DC Isolators and covers the team went all out to design the perfect system. Thanks for taking us on this journey with you K C Solar! Keep up the good work!

What a great crew, Troy, Anthony, and Tristan pulled this one off in a (rather long) day, quite a difficult job with limited access on a 45deg pitched 2nd story roof, and it all had to be done via elevated platform.
Off grid system upgrade with Aussie built Powerplus Lithium batteries, and an Australian made Selectronic SpPro inverter already in place, removed the old panels which were failing and added AC coupled 6kW ABB inverter with 24 x new 330w panels.
