Swap over carried out last week. Believe it or not the old unit was still working when we arrived despite the base having fully rusted out and compressor being held in by cable and pipe work alone. Always nice when we can ensure the house hold will remain nice and comfy through this winter season.

Replaced a wall split system for a customer last week. Recon the last installer must have been down to the last scraps of cable in his box to need to make so many joits in a 3 meter cable run.

And another little example of why water marks are appearing on the indoor ceiling. Pipe work had been installed in the standard splitty basher style with refrigerant pipe work run through a standard decktite and filled with silicon sealent. The old white pipe insulation is not UV tolerant and as such breaks down over time allowing not only rain but any condensation that forms on the cold pipes to run back down into the roof. Unit was removed from the roof and new system installed at ground level. Tile was replaced for a new one.

Called to a house right next to the water at Middleton yesterday. Daikin circuit board corroded out with salt spray and replaced for the customer. Unit had been serviced in the last month but no mention of the corrosion on the board or the base of the fan motor stand. Stand very nearly snapped when the front cover was removed. Not sure what was done under the service but obviously no one removed the outdoor cover. New fan stand on order.

Carried out a little high wall split service yesterday. Big thanks to the lovely owners for letting me get stuck in. Been a few years since this poor old girl had been serviced. MOuse intrusion had left pipe work uninsulated with possible water staining down wall surface, Build up of black mould and general heavy dirt build up. Full strip down and clean and unit up and running. Better efficency and a lot healthier.
Sometimes its hard to tell how bad your unit is getting untill someone opens it up. Couple of befroe and after photos.

Customer had black mould appearing on the ceiling directly below the pipework for the high wall split system. Existing pipework found to have been installed non compliant. Pipe work insulation used was not UV stable and had rotted away leaving bear pipework. Condensation had been forming on the pipework and running back down the pipe into the roof void, this alog with rain running back down the pipes had led to a permanent damp spot and then the formation of black mould spores.
All pipe work and electrical cable rerouted through new pe*******on and sealed so as no prvent any future water ingress.

Found this one in the archives earlier today. Swapover we carried out about a year ago. Hard to belive that the previous installers would have the nerve to beilve that they had done a good job.

Not very often we get a call to a Fujitsu system having failed but attended a lovely lady today with a faulty unit. Turns out a little gecko had got inside the unit and caused some damage. New circuit board ordered and awaiting delivery. Important to ensure especially at this time of year that your outdoor units are kept clear under and around the unit from leaves and other debris as thius can attract Geckos and mice into the units seeking warmth and cover. If you think your unit may need a service please let me know.
