Alex Crosby, Multiworks Managing Director, is on the panel at FCON26 — Australia's Future of Construction Summit.

Australia's renewable energy transition is one of the largest civil construction challenges this country is facing. The investment is committed. The projects are in the pipeline. The question is whether the industry can actually deliver.
That's the conversation at the centre of this panel at FCON 2026.

"From Transition to Transformation: Building Australia's Clean Energy Future"
The discussion will cover:

🟠 New generation, storage and transmission infrastructure needed to replace ageing fossil-fuel grids and what that build pipeline actually looks like.

🟠Why workforce and supply chain constraints in regional areas remain one of the biggest barriers to delivery

🟠How solar, battery storage and grid modification need to work together to strengthen energy security without compromising reliability

🟠Is Agentic AI a practical tool for improving construction productivity - and where is it actually being used?

On the panel:
Darren Wise | Bechtel Corporation
Cristina Muñoz | BMD Group
Alex Crosby | Multiworks
Andrew Aitken | Inland Rail

Moderated by
Dr. Nicholas Fearnley | Oxford Economics

It's a strong panel and a conversation that sits close to home. With our teams working across substations, BESS and renewable energy infrastructure every day, it's one we're looking forward to being part of.

10 data-centre substation projects in 2 years.

In action: the team behind the pace, precision and delivery discipline these projects require.

Repeatability matters in this environment. So does the ability to read the job in real time, respond quickly to changing conditions and make sound decisions that keep the work moving. That is what sits behind consistent delivery.

🎄 Season’s Greetings from Multiworks 🎄

As the festive season draws to a close, we extend our warmest wishes to everyone across our industry and community.

This Christmas, Multiworks was proud to support for Kids through their annual Christmas Toy Drive, contributing toys and a financial donation to help bring comfort to children and families during a challenging time of year.

TLC for Kids provides practical and compassionate support to children facing illness, trauma, or crisis, working alongside hospitals and frontline services to deliver care when it matters most. Supporting an organisation with such a meaningful and tangible impact is something we value greatly.

We thank for Kids for the important work they do and wish everyone a safe, restful, and positive holiday period.

Throwback to Keilor Terminal Station:
Two transformer bays. Same site. A decade apart.

In 2012, Multiworks completed civil works for a new transformer bay at a live terminal station, involving the demolition of existing firewalls and construction of a new bay between two existing units.

That scope brought its share of complexity: perched groundwater, redundant cabling, adjoining live assets, and oily water systems to navigate.

Fast forward to 2022, and our crews returned to the same site, this time constructing a new bay for the B2 transformer, along with associated works in the 220kV and 66kV switchyards.

Different decade, similar challenges.
Same focus on safe delivery around live assets.
Same crew, too.

Precision in the field starts with investing in our people and technology.

Last week, our project managers, project engineers and site supervisors completed specialist-led GNSS rover training, a structured session combining core theory with several hours of practical field exercises.

The focus was on building confidence and technical proficiency in survey workflows: pickups, mark-ups, and height or position checks. By deepening our team’s understanding of GNSS principles and honing on-site skills, we are improving accuracy, reducing time on site, and driving better outcomes across every project.

Training like this exemplifies how we invest in our people and integrate technology into operations, combining capability, tools and knowledge to deliver consistently high-quality results.

That’s a wrap on the All Energy Australia Conference 2025.

It was a valuable two days connecting with industry leaders and partners driving Australia’s renewable energy future.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet the team. We look forward to continuing the conversations and delivering trusted, high-quality civil infrastructure for Australia’s growing energy network.
