This is what the top chord of a Canterbury roof looks like when the pitch is done.

Every truss in this roof came out of our Coolaroo plant in Melbourne, stress-graded Australian pine, computer-set cuts, Multinail gang-nail plates at every joint. Wall Frames and Roof Trusses from one family-run supplier. The crew gets up there and the whole run goes in straight, plumb and at centres, because the cut list was right before it left the facility.

How does pine timber hold up an entire roof?

The correct stress grade timber, load paths, gang-nail plates, and engineering done before the timber leaves our Coolaroo plant in Melbourne.

The triangle cannot be racked out of shape without breaking a member. Top chords carry the load to the walls. The bottom chord stops the walls from splaying. The internal webs transfer load across the frame. At every joint, a pressed steel gang-nail plate bites into the grain on both faces at once, locking the geometry under load.

Stress-graded Australian pine, computer-set cuts, plated at our Coolaroo plant in Melbourne. That is why roof trusses go up in a day where a stick-built rafter roof takes a week.

Most builders know us for Roof Trusses. But the Wall Frames and Floor Joists be it Residential or Commercial leave the same plant, cut to the same plan, delivered in the same run. Less coordination, fewer gaps, no chasing three different suppliers when the frame goes up.

Look up next time you’re on a frame stage. That silver plate biting into the timber is gang-nail - pressed into Aussie pine and locking every joint in your roof together without a single nail or bolt.

We don’t import the important bits. Our plates are Multinail - engineered and manufactured in Australia. Our timber is stress-graded local pine. Our cuts are computer-set so every truss leaves our Coolaroo plant identical to the one before it.

That’s the standard on every frame and truss we ship. No imported plates, ne offshore timber, no “she’ll be right” tolerances.

Our new website is live — and we built it the same way we build trusses. Properly.

These shots are from a job we wrapped in Sorrento last month. Roof trusses pre-fabricated at our Coolaroo yard, delivered down, craned into place and pitched before the weather turned on us.
